Discovered the 240's problem. - CaptainHenreh - 09-14-2004 I'll post pictures later. Basically, on a whim, I decided I would check the 240's fluid levels. Everything was fine, except I was a qt low on oil. Funny, the 240 never uses oil. So I pull my plugs. They come out reeeeeeeeeeeeeal easy. The electrode and ground are black as night, and the threads are covered in ex-dinosaurs. WEEEEEE! That would explain the lack of power! - Feersty - 09-14-2004 Get er done, dude - Ryan T - 09-14-2004 I found the problem with my supra...its missing this: - damnit458 - 09-14-2004 a blowdryer? What does it have a wet engine or something???? - CaptainHenreh - 09-15-2004 Well, I showed the plugs to my father. He reminded me I used oil to test my compression, and wouldn't that have resulted in oil on the threads? He showed me the plug from an oil-burning car (our metro) and it had gooey shit all over it. He says my black plugs are from running rich. Find out why I'm doing that, and I'll find out what's wrong with the car. So...I am going to attempt to pull my codes from my ECU this afternoon. Anyone want to help? Free use of air tools for any work you need done... - bluhayz - 09-15-2004 reminds me I need to check my 240s fluids... that and get some new tires - CaptainHenreh - 09-15-2004 ECM Say: "Oh mistah! You got cooooooode tirtyfowah! Bad knock sensah!" Easy to read the codes, hard to get the ECU out of it's little cubbyhole. WOuldn't you think that Nissan would situate the ecu so that you could read the codes without, you know, practically removing the damned thing. So, off to Advance to check on the price of a new knock sensor....Travis, you think you could hook me up with a discountizzle? - .RJ - 09-15-2004 Be careful - codes only indicate the symptom, not necessarily the cause. - mpg9999 - 09-16-2004 If that doesnt fix it we can hook my techtom up to it and check out the other sensors. I should be at the verona autocross if you want to do that. -Mike - KPWSerpiente - 09-16-2004 Dude...seriously, check the o2 sensor. -T - CaptainHenreh - 09-17-2004 For reasons that should become clear over the next couple of days, I'm not doing another damned thing to it. - JohnC - 09-17-2004 CaptainHenreh Wrote:For reasons that should become clear over the next couple of days, I'm not doing another damned thing to it. I smell more b00st.... - JohnC - 09-21-2004 CaptainHenreh Wrote:For reasons that should become clear over the next couple of days, I'm not doing another damned thing to it. C'mon, we're dying here... Well, at least I'm sure everyone else is.. - CaptainHenreh - 09-21-2004 mongooze Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:For reasons that should become clear over the next couple of days, I'm not doing another damned thing to it. Patience. Gonna pick it up today. No one will be really suprised or impressed, but it's taking a big leap feet first. |
