WTB - Cheap Wheels - Ken - 09-21-2012 Hey Guys, Looking to get myself a set of wheels for the winter, anything at or near these specs would be awesome: Diameter: 18inches Width: 8.5 Offset: +38 Again, emphasis is on cheap. I really don't care how they look as long as they dont look like COMPLETE ass on the car. Thanks in advance, Ken Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - CaptainHenreh - 09-21-2012 Yeah, uh, me too. Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - Kaan - 09-21-2012 lug pattern usually helps also cheap 18x8.5? i lol Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - CaptainHenreh - 09-21-2012 5X114.3 Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - Ken - 09-24-2012 I KNEW i was forgetting something as i wrote that, and yes 5x114. Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - DierwulfBL - 09-26-2012 I'll give you some advice, even though you didnt ask .-Most 17s will clear the brembos, 17s are cheaper, and the tires are cheaper as well. If you're doing snow driving 8.5" will not cut as well as skinnier tires (snow rally tyres are ~155s) so if that's what these wheels will be seeing, you may want to rethink the width. Skinnier tires are also cheaper -OEM Evo 8 wheels - Can be picked up for fairly cheap on Craigslist, and I believe they are made by Enkei so they are good solid wheels -OEM STi Wheels - about the same price range as above, 05-07 are the right pattern but the offset is +53ish so there may be clearance issues -Rotas/other knockoffs - pick em up used for dirt cheap, get what you pay for. -Keep an eye on NASIOC/IWSTI as they use the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern on STIs, you may find someone local What's your budget here? Re: WTB - Cheap Wheels - Ken - 09-26-2012 I had found some cheap M86(?) wheels for like 220 for a set, they are 18x7.5 +35 offset, so i'm considering it. Like i said, they can be near those specs. I can't however do 17inches because i already have my snow tires purchased and they are 235/40/18. Probably wouldn't anyway; i already have wheel gap and 17 would just make it look worse. Thanks for the suggestions, i may try and look for used Rotas or something. Again, i just need them to get through the snow and salt, really doesn't need to be anything awesome. So long as they don't bend in half and don't look like absolute poo, they have served their purpose. |
