Picked up a copy of ME:3 used for $17.00 today. I was tempted to get the trilogy for $40.00 but honestly this game will probably last me until the XB1/PS4 come out. Looking forward to this style of game again. Anything I should know? I haven't played the others in the series

Eh, you won't hate the ending as much as I did. I'd look for some ME1&2 recap videos on teh youtubes.
I just finished Spec Ops: The Line, AKA "Heart of Darkness, XBox". Fuckin' hell man, that thing was *good*. Had to put the controller down a couple of times to clear my head. Hopefully a vision of things to come for subversion of narrative in video games.

There is a "special ending" I found in the downloadables for free so I d/led it. I wonder how much different it is than the standard ending. So far I like the game, it's pretty much what I expected. I can't figure out how to put on the armor you pick up though...does it go on automatically?

First gameplay video from GTAV. The map looks like it is going to be huge (like they said) and it seems to have tons of things to do besides missions. Scuba diving, sports, customizing cars/clothes, etc. There are 3 different characters which you can play as and you can drop in on them any time to see what they are up to. When you are doing a mission you can quickly switch between the 3 characters to get different vantage points and complete the mission more efficiently. It look like it is going to be really good. I am a GTA fanboy though.

Ugh. GTA III & IV are a trainwreck as far as gamplay goes. Sleeping dogs (GTA: Slanteye) and Red Dead Redemption (Grand Theft Horse) are flat out superior games. GTA V is going to really have to wow the shit out of me...

Not like that at all Rex. Watch the trailer. It will be all 3 of you robbing a bank and you can switch between characters. One guy in the bank, one outside, one in the vault. You can select between them to hold off the cops outside, keep witnesses quiet, etc. Not just boring bullshit like bowling.

Did I say it was like that? I was saying that GTAIII and GTAIV were both trainwrecks as far as gameplay (GTAIII less than IV) went. GTAV has a ton of work to do if it's going to grab my attention, and jumping between bodies is an interesting, but not altogether convincing step.

From the trailer, it looks like you can control more shit on cars too like putting the top down on a vert. Now they just need to make it so I can hook a trailer to a big rig and activate my turn signals and I'm in :thumbup:

Seriously, the horse in RDR handled better than any of the cars in San Andreas.

It kinda seems like it will almost be a second life type thing. Where you can go golfing or scuba diving o with your buddies online.....And then go murder a prostitute, steal a few cars and maybe even hunt a few deer...with an F-18 fighter jet
