Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 07-21-2015 Ive shot wolf and herters with no significant issues. Maybe one or 2 FTF out of 2k rounds. This pops up pretty often, just subscribe and be ready to buy when you get the email. EDIT, Forgot Link - http://aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item ... =WPA+(WOLF)+.223+55grn+FMJ+20rd+Box&groupid=21 Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - SlimKlim - 07-21-2015 I used to use Wolf .223 rounds in my 16" AR carbine and it had a delightful side effect of building up crap that would result in a 2ft-radius muzzle flash every 3rd round or so. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 07-21-2015 Apoc Wrote:Looking for bulk plinking ammo and there is a lot of Russian crap out there. Any experience? It isn't really the case material that matters, but the bimetal jacketing on the bullets...this wears your barrel faster. The cheap russian stuff also tends to be dirty and lowerpowered, but it iiiiiiiiiiis cheaaaaaaap. I use it in my short barrel, not in my Knights. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 07-21-2015 Pretty good deal on a special edition 10/22 TD. Can't beat that for the price to keep around for your bug out supplies. Granted I think I paid closer to $200 for my black / stainless one. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.ph ... 11153.html Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JPolen01 - 07-22-2015 HAULN-SS Wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/21/us/gun-drone-connecticut/index.html Can we please stop calling these flying toy picture taking machines 'drones'? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 07-22-2015 Might as well get used to calling them "drones", and at least there's some logic to it. There is a difference between the hobby heli of 10 years ago that had little in the way of automation, and a heli that stabilizes itself and a HD camera, knows its location, can fly automated routes, and opens up the "hobby" to a much larger group of operators and potential uses. Thank you. Someone who understands. Rex sent me this last night - pertinent to this conversation https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimf ... pters_way/ Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 07-23-2015 JPolen01 Wrote:Apoc Wrote:I think his point is hobbyist planes and helicopters have existed for decades and we never felt the need to label them drones. um. that link doesn't do anything further your argument against the dictionary. so now it's unclear - are you mad about the regulation of "drones" (a broad category that comprises many existing hobby aircraft that previously didn't get anybody's panties in too much of a bunch) or that fact that people call drones "drones"? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JPolen01 - 07-23-2015 Barring the dictionary definition, my jimmies are rustled by the media (shocker, right?) and their incessant use of the term drone. It's just something they can use to scare the masses. This kid could have easily put a gun on an RC helicopter or RC place 10 years ago and no one would have given a shit. He puts it on a $50 flying picture taking device and everyone loses their minds. /end rant Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 07-23-2015 Hey. Firearms. Guns. That's what this thread is for. Not rc helichopters. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 07-23-2015 Yeah its the sensationalism attached to the word drone and used as a scareword. Drones have historically and colloquially been the name for military UAVs which itself has baggage and strong opinions attached to it and gets a lot of people panties in a bunch. (never mind the word comes from worker bees) So attaching a word with that kind of baggage and cultural meaning to a made in china plastic flying gopro is not just wrong its deceptive and causes emotional responses in people that are not deserving. tldr; words have meaning. Then Rex will really lose his mind. You get me. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 08-28-2015 So at some point in this thread I think there was a discussion about guns you regret selling. My two big ones were my 1911 and my AR15. I picked up both this week. Back in 2009 I had a RIA 1911 that I traded for a cheap AR15, I then traded that for a Ruger M77 7mm and scope, I later traded that gun for a Glock 35 and 200 rounds of ammo. This week I traded my G35 for a Springfield Loaded 1911 .45. Essentially I went from a ~$400 RIA to a ~$700 1911 by just trading up. Came with box, 3 mags, Novak sights and 2 holsters. Haven't shot it yet but I love how it feels in my hand. I doubt I will be getting rid of this gun anytime soon. Also picked up a S&W M&P 15 Sport. I don't need any fancy features in an AR, just something reliable. I sold a .223 bolt action rifle and paid ~$200 on top for this rifle. Ordered 6 Promag mags (3 20round and 3 42 round for $35) that should be here Tuesday.
