Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 04-14-2016 I mean when I see an "econobox" chassis holding the same lateral g's as the M2 chassis I don't just consider it just an "econobox" chassis... Obviously that isn't everything to be considered an amazing chassis but I don't think I'd say an RS' chassis is that bad. Not saying the BMW chassis isn't good either. Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 04-14-2016 rherold9 Wrote:Lol @ the bmw tax. $52k? Why not just buy an RS for $10k cheaper? Just BMW things I guess :dunno:Because you want the luxury features of the BMW (or the M2 is simply more to your tastes). Can't get a lot of things that the M2 has on the RS. For the customer that cares more about performance, the Corvette Stingray, Mustang GT, Camaro SS, and GT350 would all be faster choices for the money. GT350 would be the ticket for me. The RS would be the more practical and as fast or faster for the money choice for people who don't care about the creature comforts. When you are looking at Lateral Gs to determine a chassis, I now understand the high-fiving you guys give each other. I am going to stop being a dick now and let you boys circle together on whatever "ZOMG I turned grocery getter into something its not" mindsets. Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 04-14-2016 Lol @ talking about lateral Gs to determine the best street car chassis. You guys are fucking ridiculous. Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 04-14-2016 I mean I shall repeat myself again and say lateral g isn't everything to determine a chassis obviously (tires play a big part in that). If you consider the RS chassis an "econobox" chassis what do you consider mine because mine is an econobox chassis? I would say that chassis is the middle of the line... Sure Ford isn't going to put a shit ton of money to make aluminum parts for their suspension and bracing like BMW did in the M2. They are both MacPherson up front with the M2 five-link rear and three-link in the RS. I'm sorry DJ, I shall never challenge what you think ever again   Edit: And actually I will have fun high-fiving and enjoying my car on the track, thanks man  . I'm sorry it upsets you so much that people don't always track "performance" cars. Re: Automotive News Discussion - CaptainHenreh - 04-14-2016 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:rherold9 Wrote:Lol @ the bmw tax. $52k? Why not just buy an RS for $10k cheaper? Just BMW things I guess :dunno: Both of these statements are fucking retarded. The M2 is just as production built as a Focus RS. They've got different performance targets, different markets, and a completely different design philosophy. $52k is not awesome for a fun RWD high-ish horsepower car. It's expensive as fuck. 365hp. Fucking christ. That isn't high-ish, it's 65 more than a maxima. Alternately, the same as my flex (with less torque.) It's fine for what it is, but it isn't "high horsepower" not for the 21st century. And double especially when the GT350 makes more, costs less, handles better. (echoing G: "For the customer that cares more about performance, the Corvette Stingray, Mustang GT, Camaro SS, and GT350 would all be faster choices for the money.") The Focus RS, on the other hand, ISN'T a BMW, will never be a BMW, and comparing the two is completely dildos. It's almost like comparing my Flex to the two of them, they could not be more different cars. They drive different, handle different, and have utterly different styles. You won't find heated leather dickwarmers in a Focus RS, and that barista who draws a heart on your fucking starbucks cup is going to fucking hate it, while her panties are gonna be O-F-F when she catches the roundel on your key. OTOH, decrying the RS because it's based on an "econobox" when the M2 is based on BMW's entry offering is also stupid. This whole thing is stupid. In Summary 1:German Cars cost a lot of money, but lots of people think they're worth it B:Take damn near any half-assed chassis and throw tech and power at it, and it'll be fast. III: No one here is buying a new example of any of the cars discussed, so if you wanna bench race, by all means, be my guest, but there's no accounting for taste. Re: Automotive News Discussion - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-14-2016 Oh good, we have the expert here with the Prius, move aside! For what it was designed to do, it does very very well. :dunno: Don't pretend it's the only car I've ever owned. Re: Automotive News Discussion - CaptainHenreh - 04-14-2016 Also, we already have an Evan. I know he's not around much anymore but he's better at being him than you are. Re: Automotive News Discussion - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-14-2016 Shit I'm still in fucking production based cars and realize the limitations. But comparing an m2 at 52k vs a camaro/mustang/fuckus is laughable. Even with it being a production car, the chassis are wholly different. I ain't the most knowledgeable person but I do know the damn difference between an Evo/focus and a decent chassis. Most people miss the "fast in spite of" parts of those types of cars. Btw 365 hp is pretty good, comparing to your flex is like saying my diesel shits on my race car since it has 400+ hp and double the torque Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Re: Automotive News Discussion - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-14-2016 CaptainHenreh Wrote:This whole thing is stupid. I mean, that's why people buy BMW's, right? And put up with all the dumb ///Deutchscheiße that comes along with it? For the tail?
