OG is da beesssttt. I wish Trijicon would make a tritium watch though. You know I looked at Luminox but I have heard a surprising number of bad reviews on their longevity and quality. I also think they look in general too "spiky". Smith & Wesson actually makes a tritium watch. Smith might license the name to someone to make a watch, but it's prolly chinese junk. ![]() Apoc Wrote:The guy who uses a cell phone instead of a wrist clock is a troglodyte? :lol:Yeah, an uncultured caveman with no sense of style or poise. Oh, I have a watch that costs more than that gun for when I like to get pretty. I just don't understand owning one for each day of the month or any that look like this. Enjoy your Tag when you put it on and let us wannabe GQ'ers here talk man talk. I will say in srsness that watches have spurred more conversations with strangers and broken more ice with potential clients than an iPhone or Android that everyone has. Wearing a watch is not just about the ability to tell the time, in that video I posted with John Mayer he said it best. For those of us not stuck in a cubicle or staring at a computer screen all day and are out shaking hands and kissing babies it's the little things that go a long way~ Re: The WANT Thread - D_Eclipse9916 - 12-16-2013 Steve85 Wrote:When the hell did boots get so damn expensive? Re: The WANT Thread - JustinG - 12-16-2013 I had been looking for a metal watch to wear. Conveniently got 100 points to spend on my companies rewards website after wrapping up the current project im on. 100 points = approx $100. They had some stuff on there like gift cards to certain retailers, (no Amazon or Visa gift cards unfortunately) and ran across this fossil watch. I think it will fit the bill, nothing as fancy as what you guys are rocking but for free99 I will take it. Simple, stainless band/case, black face, with some dial things I will never use but like the look of. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/men/watch_styles/steel_dress/dean_stainless_steel_watch-fs4542p.html">http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/men/wa ... 4542p.html</a><!-- m -->
Re: The WANT Thread - WRXtranceformed - 12-16-2013 Looks great! Also looks pretty sturdy and with an 11 year warranty that is about 9 years longer than most of the ultra high end watch companies offer. Any decent chronograph for under $100 is definitely a nice find. 45mm is a decent size, it should wear "large" on your wrist but won't look gaudy like those ridiculous Diesel watches. I prefer larger cases / faces but anything over 48mm can get ridiculous really quick. Re: The WANT Thread - Jake - 12-16-2013 WRXtranceformed Wrote:...won't look gaudy like those ridiculous Diesel watches. The only thing called "Diesel" that isn't spectacularly gaudy is Rex & Julie's dog. And I guess the fuel, that's pretty good too. Re: The WANT Thread - WRXtranceformed - 01-13-2014 After much deliberation I settled on my first high quality swiss auto, a diver from Oris one of my favorite companies: The previous gen 733-7533-8555MB ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I went with the prior gen diver vs the Aquis due to the scalloped dial face which I thought looked more interesting (Omega-esque) than the new plain face it also has a slightly bigger case and more interesting features. I cross shopped the Titan and "small second hand" versions but I was looking for a skeletonized back specifically which they did not have. Takes a few weeks from Jomashop so I'll post up some pics when it arrives. Also had a few Amex rewards points left so I synced them to Amazon and snagged two NATO bands for my carbon fiber diver and Protrek PRG-130Y and a Heiden dual watch winder. I went back and forth on the idea of a winder because I will probably be wearing the Oris a lot but as the collection grows I figured it couldn't hurt. I was just guessing what Chris had for a couple thousand that he wears every now and then. Tags are perfectly fine luxury watches.WRXtranceformed Wrote:It's cool Chris some people aren't as fashionable as others. Enjoy your Tag when you put it on and let us wannabe GQ'ers here talk man talk. If you wanted my personal opinion on them, from secondhand experience Tags are not as reliable as some of the other Swiss brands (such as the one I purchased from). On the high end of their series (Grand Carreras etc) I think they are too overpriced for what they are. They start reaching into Rolex / IWC / Patek territory, all of which carry a lot more heritage, build quality and brand strength than Tag Heuer. That is why all three of those brands hold such crazy high resale value. On their models in the $1-3k range you're going to get a better value and a decent watch although still like I said not as reliable or solidly built as other choices you have at that price point. Re: The WANT Thread - Maengelito - 01-15-2014 yeah, I've been eyeing a couple of the lower end Tags. I feel like they're "cheap" enough to wear everyday to work but still nice enough as a luxo watch. But I agree, once you look at the more expensive Tags, you might as well go Rolex/Patek. This would be the perfect desk diver honestly as long as you are not worried about having the box and papers. Pick up a stainless bracelet for it for when it's time to get classy. A lot heavier than I thought it would be. Fit and finish is top notch. I love how the clasp has a micro adjustment ability that you can set with a toothpick for a better fit. I had it on the winder last night on the recommended settings but it died anyway so I may need to bump up the turns per day. ![]() ![]() ![]() Excellent lume, really bright. I charged it up before I went to bed the other night and woke up 4 hours later to it still glowing on the winder. ![]()
