Well I setup an account with scottrade (because of no inactivity fees). Im starting off with $700 and ill see how it goes. My first buy once the money clears will be Ford stock(dont make fun of me lol). All this talk about GM and Chrysler today and people are saying Ford is doing better. So I suspect their stock will go up over the next couple months. We will see how it goes. Wish me luck.

Well so far ford was up 4% yesterday and 7% so far today. So I guess its doing soso especially compared to GM

Ha! That 10$ a week everyone is getting in their paycheck caused a 20 percent or more rally? Because really, that's all the stimulus has done so far. I'd say it's more like TARP is working.

Damn thats pretty damn sweet. Where do you see stuff like this? How do you learn about/follow these companies so closely? Im not quite sure how people stay such up to date on these companies Ive never heard of.
For having just started 2 weeks ago though, Im doing pretty well with ford thus far. I only wish I would have bought more. But i guess hindsight is 20/20. :?
When I get back from this summer Im probably going to get more serious with it. Thanks for all the help thus far guys.

fool.com put me on to a bunch of companies. nowadays i watch the yahoo and google stock message boards for those companies, see if anyone suggests anything, look in to it.
i have a list of about 20 stocks i watch on a daily basis.

Yeah I started reading those message boards thanks. Call me stupid but im transferring more money into my account to buy GM stock. I dont think Obama is going to let it go bankrupt. And long run wise, I see GM recovering to well above 2.00 a share its at now. But its just a hunch. We will see how it goes. Like i said this money isnt going to make or break me so... Might as well go risky.

Ford reported some really good numbers this morning. If I were you guys, I'd be selling every bit of it that I had in today's overreaction, profiting handsomely, and then buying it back on a pullback over the next week or so.
