I love those e55s. Someone in my neighborhood has one and it's pretty beat but I still dig it.

My friend Aaron has an E55 of the following generation (2006ish MY) and it's piiimp. Apparently they are pretty reliable but that's just anecdotal given what he's said as a Mercedes fanboi. I've driven it a few times - even had it on loan for about a week straight - and it would be a fun daily for sure. Fuel consumption is horrific but no worse than anything else that's got a big, blown V8.

We talked but it's a back burner idea due to the work/condition, even though the price point give lots of room to ad a supercharger and still be under budget. =p
TIL BMW's M60B40 only had 282hp. Sad!

Checks *enough* of my boxes. German, auto, V8, (supposedly) well maintained, 95 for historic tags, not silver, not crazy miles, not in New Hampshire and an owner that responds to my messages. I will take that at the moment.
