Neat. So one cylinder is pointed straight up at the gas tank?

More or less, yup. Pretty common engine design used by a lot of manufacturers.

"New" brakes installed. IDK if I did a shitty job bleeding the old ones or stainless lines make that much of a difference, but the brake lever in VERY firm now. Hardly any squish. I've got them zip-tied up for the next couple of hours to check for leaks, but I'll report back on actual riding feel if/when the weather clears up.

Another bit of progress. Fabbed up a bracket to mount the hall-effect sensor. It picks up magnets I have installed in the rotor and then wired into the factory harness. I'm still banging my head on building a decent bracket for the speedometer. I might take it to a local fab shop and see what they can build.

Those brakes look solid.

i know its completely superficial but i love how blocky the caliper looks. like its honed from a billet. gold + blue is good stuff.

When life gives you warm weather you get off your ass and get to work. Some long overdue maintenance for the SV and a replacement license plate bracket. My last long ride one of the turn signal bracket just simply snapped off due to the rusty old bracket. That was removed and replaced with a nice brandy new one! My brake lights were also intermittent so a new brake light switch was installed in the master cylinder and we're back in business.

On top of that I changed the coolant over to SuperCool since I have no idea when the coolant was changed last. This is also a nice little "You're Welcome" to others on track if my radiator decides to implode. Cleaned and lubed the chain as well as an adjustment in slack and we're good to go!
