That's a pretty cool project. I always wanted to do a dedicate emulator or drop a Pi 4 into an SNES shell or something to get the aesthetic and the massive library. Let me know how PS3 emulation works, I hear it's a pain

I haven't tried the PS3 games yet, it should be powerful enough to run at least some, but I have been getting a secondary education on the weekends on the retroPi forums how to assemble an image for such a use case.  If you want to want a nice and easy to setup pi emulator search on YouTube, tons of resources how to make your own in like a weekend (takes a bit of time on some to set up controllers for 5000+ games)

In the off chance i actually procure a 3070 at the end of the month, anyone interested in my 2070 Super?

I'll give you $6

I think once these new Ryzens are out and actually available (along with the 3000 series nvidia cards), it might actually be time to replace my old PC I built in 2012 or 13. Current PC is running a OC'd 4670k with a GTX 1070 so it's getting to be bit long in the tooth at this point.

The leaked benchmarks are making the new Ryzens look pretty good compared to intel's offerings. We'll see once the actual benchmarks are out though.

I'm thinking similarly. I'm on an OC'd 4790k with a hybrid 1080ti. It's been great but it's showing its age.

I'll be by a microcenter around launch day and I'm highly considering seeing if I can snag something if I get there early. Build it in a Lian-Li case or something and get a nice 360mm CLC cooler.  I'd eventually like to go to 1440p ultrawide so I'd need a rig that could drive that to at least 120hz.

IDK if this helps or if you wanted on unsealed but its an idea.

Yeah, i can justify the $500 for the 3070, anything more is tough for me to come to terms with. Appreciate the look-out though!

If you think the 3070 will be available for 5 bones by NOV1 you craycray.

I just bought a 2060, justifying it with 'good enough' until the 30xx vs Navi stuff shakes out.

If you think dealing with AMD drivers is worth it, you're craycray.

But yeah, i have my dreams.
