Fiat Chrysler hit with $105 million fine and must offer to buy back at least 500,000 Ram trucks over defective steering (some jeeps recalled as well for minimal protection of the gas tank).
Models included in the buyback offer are certain Ram 1500s from 2009 to 2012; the Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4 by 4 from 2008; and the Ram 2500 4 by 4, 3500 4 by 4, 4500 4 by 4, and 5500 4 by 4, all from 2008 through 2012. Also part of the offer are 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUVs and the Dodge Dakota pickup from 2009 through 2011.

The M2 reviews are out and every one I have seen has rated it really highly. I just wish it was lighter than it is. It sets at 3450, so only 100lbs lighter than the M4. A lot of reviewers are saying they prefer it over the M4 though, so maybe there is something more than just the numbers.

I had to do a landfill run last weekend and the scale going out said 1.67 tons. Subtracting my body weight that means a DSG GTI + sunroof, leather and fancy sound system + nearly a full tank of gas clocks in at just under 3200lbs. I was pretty impressed considering its a MY2015 with a gazillion airbags.

Probably feels a bit more nimble than a M4 with the shorter wheelbase and with it being significantly cheaper I could see how some would prefer it. For me it's just too heavy for the size penalty you pay. It's right in the same price range as a Mustang GT350 and probably gives up a bit of rear legroom to the Mustang while only being about 100-200 lbs lighter. But the GT350 is pushing 160 more horsepower and certainly sounds better. The M2 is a little bit more luxurious but the Mustang's interior is pretty nice these days so even there it doesn't give up much to the M2.
EDIT: GT350 is about 300 lbs heavier

If people find it hard to get their hands on one for the first 18 -24 months, prices will stay strong. But if production catches up with demand much faster I think prices will follow a normal curve.
I think M2 prices will be really strong at first since there are a lot of people who think they're going to be limited like the 1M was. I actually overheard some fool at the DC auto show saying, "You could buy a M2 and resell it and make $30 grand, guaranteed." Once those fools are relieved of their money I think the M2 will depreciate on the normal M curve. First year or two will probably be overpriced. Then again, maybe used F80/F82 M3's will put some downward pricing pressure on M2's.

Plenty of units to sell but dealers attach crazy admins so only idiots with deep pockets will pay them. After a year or so the market gets flooded with below MSRP new cars and even cheaper used examples.

There was a rumor a few months ago that they were going to be limited to 10k units a year world wide, but everything I've been seeing recently is saying they aren't limited production at all.
