what happened to this? did VW buy it back?

- ViPER1313 - 03-24-2008

No, I just traded it in.

Blair - Name 1 other car made in the past 2 years that is as roomy, fast and reliable for under 15 large.

2007, 260hp, 32k miles, leather, remote start, auto climate w/ a proven motor. If you don't like it suck a D and buy a Miata.

- Jeff - 03-24-2008

Your car list is the "white trash redneck wife" car catalog. Don't hate on the summertime drop top...it was FREE and it looks pretty decent.

- BLAIR - 03-24-2008

just cause that car fits the narrow-weird-lame-retarded categories doesnt make it cool hahahah

Not to hate too much but it's the car that I could see Joy from My Name is Earl driving... after she kills that Subaru.

- JackoliciousLegs - 03-25-2008

Hahahaha.... nice "reliability" upgrade..

I know a lot of people who've had the 3x00 v6's and no one has killed one yet.

- Jeff - 03-26-2008

I've always heard they were pretty reliable as well. All I know is GM electronics suck. Not in the same way VW stuff does...but like their alternators and batteries blow the cock.

The 3.8 is almost indestructible. Not to mention it has been around long enough that there are fixes to issues that do crop up (unlike the VW 2.5 which is a new design and noone knows anything about them.) The 4T65E trans is solid as well - the 1st ones had electronics issues but GM seems to have worked through them. Also uses Dexron VI fluid after 2006, which is possibly the most stable / stringent ATF standard on the market today.

As for the hate, suck it. This car is the best DD I have had yet. Go drive a 2007 Honda Accord I4 and a Grand Prix GT back to back and tell me which one you would buy. Hell, I even like the way it looks. I never said I was looking for a sports car - I already have 2 of those.

Please don't refer to the SHO as a sports car.

- ViPER1313 - 03-26-2008

Once again, don't diss it till you drive it. I would bet $100 you could drive my SHO faster around track than you could drive your own car.

- Apoc - 03-26-2008

Someone please take that bet.

i've driven your's before Wink - i remember you saying, "2nd to 1st, 2nd to 1st, 2nd to 1st!!!" when i couldn't get it in gear, haha

it was pretty quick and powerful. not as responsive in steering as my acura, but not many cars are to me IMO.

i don't doubt the GT is a nice drive, i've gotten a couple as rentals. enjoy your new rental car
