- .paul - 03-04-2009 the storm is perfectly fine if it does what you want, and you have the understanding that it is in dev stages. Even when the iphone was released it had many bugs and updates that were coming out. Good on Verizon for not releasing 10000 updates constantly, and doing good QA before releasing updates. I have had my storm since it was released, the first update made a huge difference. There is still a long way to go, but I am aware of what it is, and understand. - .RJ - 03-04-2009 .paul Wrote:I have had my storm since it was released, the first update made a huge difference. I'd prefer not to keep all the personal stuff on the work calendar, so... You should be able to use the built-in calendar app. Just set all your personal shit as a different "calendar" and you should be able to tell it not to sync that one up to your computer. When you create a new item, you'll see an option to choose a calendar it goes in. For to-do items, I bought UltraList. Good for shopping lists, lists of shit I want to buy, list of shit I need to do on the car, blog ideas, etc. - Apoc - 03-04-2009 .RJ Wrote:.paul Wrote:I have had my storm since it was released, the first update made a huge difference. Paul drinks the kool aid without anything he owns. - .RJ - 03-04-2009 Mike Wrote:You should be able to use the built-in calendar app. Just set all your personal shit as a different "calendar" and you should be able to tell it not to sync that one up to your computer. Not seeing it... when I add a new 'event' it gets pushed to the outlook calendar. No option for different calendars
- Apoc - 03-04-2009 You're officially too uncool for an iFONE. - .RJ - 03-04-2009 MY IPHONE GETS TEXT MESSAGES - Mike - 03-04-2009 Apparently you can't create the new calendars on the phone. Instead, you have to create them in whatever you sync with. In my case, I have Entourage (Apple's Outlook), which has my work shit, sync to iCal, which has my personal shit, sync to my phone. Since you're not using a Mac... You'll just have to create different calendars within Outlook. Seems stupid. What if someone doesn't sync to any sort of calendar? They can't track their schedule in different categories? I have Work, Running, and Home. - Apoc - 03-04-2009 Can't you just make the sync one way? IOW, whatever you add in the phone doesn't go back to outlook? - Mike - 03-04-2009 Yes, but he's still got to create the new calendars somewhere. I'm not backing all my shit out to give him a step-by-step
- .RJ - 03-04-2009 Is iCal mac only? - Mike - 03-04-2009 http://tinyurl.com/bzfmez - stevegula - 03-04-2009 use gmail? sync with that calendar. - Evan - 03-04-2009 iCal is a calendar standard. most calendar apps support it including google calendar. (and no, iApple didnt iCreate it despite their trademark on the letter i) - Evan - 03-04-2009 .RJ Wrote:Now if someone said this about their ifone then they'd be labeled a kool aid drinkerlol! .paul Wrote:There is still a long way to go.= Mike Wrote:it's a vastly superior product.? THE REALITY DISTORTION FIELD HAS YOU! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! - .RJ - 03-04-2009 That was pretty weak evan ![]() I have it pulling gmail too, but it seems like it only wants to do 1 calendar, its an either or (gmail, iphone, outlook, etc). Pretty big design fault, but I'll live. - Apoc - 03-04-2009 I've got $5 on user error. Yeah, that's right... I respect the iphone more than RJ's ability to use technology properly. :-P - .RJ - 03-04-2009 I wouldnt bet against that. http://www.google.com/googlecalendar/new.html I can sync google calendar with outlook... this might be the way to go. - .RJ - 03-04-2009 Ok, that works, 1 way push (outlook -> google) is perfect. google calendar on iphone - http://www.google.com/support/calendar/ ... swer=65923 The only issue now is that I cant add events to the google calendar with the jesus phone, maybe google will fix that later... might check out mikey's list next - Mike - 03-04-2009 Evan Wrote:.RJ Wrote:Now if someone said this about their ifone then they'd be labeled a kool aid drinkerlol! orly? |
