not perfect, but i say it's a pretty good simulator
I turned it all off. The only car that I have anything sort of driving aid on with is my 800hp touring 350z. I have traction control set to level 1. Without it, the first 2 gears are useless.

Anyone is welcome to come over and try either LFS or GTR w/ my wheel. Be warned though... you'll never look at the GT series the same way. Even the graphics of GTR are starting to equal that of GT4. I don't have amazing computer... but GTR still looks hot.

GT4 is a cool arcade-style game for car nuts or PS2 nuts alike. I really like it. I do. I just don't think it's quite a "simulator"... I haven't tried it with the wheel yet, but as is, it's got decent physics, a great car selection, and cool tracks (the ring).

Downsides: Physics aren't great by any means. You can still just toss a car into a drift easily and just hold it (try that on GTR  ). Some cars are rediculously useless (who the F needs a 1hp 0tq car from the 30s?). It's a pain not to be able to buy old cars when you want them. A lot of the tracks are the same.

It's cool, but I figured for the amount of time they spent in development they'd have more tracks, more useful cars (has anyone seen a 1st gen rx yet?)... and a more linear style of gameplay that didn't allow me to gain $1 million very easily.

But, hey, it's a Gran Turismo series game. Great for what it's worth.

PS Can't wait for the english version of GTR comes out so I can start my in game career mode!

When does that happen?

Europe release date is 11th of March. It's getting released in a couple of languages. I could probably download it around then... I'm definitely planning on paying for it when it gets released in the US. I bought LFS too. Smile

edit: I pay for software when I believe I should. MS can go F themselves. Big artists can too. Big money hollywood movies can F themselves too. Small bands, bands that aren't against MP3s, independent movies, small budget (but amazing) games... etc.
