This is the only reasonably priced overgrown wagon you'll ever catch me in.

Da fuq? Out of everything we've been talking about and you go and find the e60 of the suv world

Why don't you all quit being pussies and get your 6 wheel gangster lean on:

My pants have been so tight since that thing came out. Some crazy Saudis drove one on this years gumball rally.

Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-10-2014

Now imagine how much cooler that could be of it was a wagon Wink

Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - JPolen01 - 07-10-2014

How can a 6x6 brabus pick up be cooler as a wagon? I love me some bad ass wagons but you're trippin' son.

Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-10-2014

Eh, uh, but, just NO. NO. CX-9's are GOOD! I'd take one over any Volvo suv all day.

Yeah I think you're the crazy one now..

G.Irish Wrote:Wifey wants a SUV at some point in the not too distance future and this would probably be the funnest option in that size range (she doesn't want a bigger SUV like a MDX or X5...M). It's too expensive to really make sense for now but I'd love to snatch one of these up used in a few years.

I still feel wrong for liking these ridiculous things but ultimately I think I'd rather have a cheaper SUV and a nicer sedan so I'd have a hard time buying one unless I could still have my uber sedan.

Its pretty fun and I got it pretty cheap:

From someone who spent money on a CX9, I can confirm its interior and handling are above that of all swedes mentioned in this thread.

Glad the threads with the mini SUVs is popping in MM and not even a mention of July VIR in a week. :weak:

Wife was out of town today so I swung by the Porsche and Audi dealers after the range to check out the SQ5 and Macan S. I didn't want to go through all the mess of test driving until we get closer to the point of trading out of our current cars so I will withhold final judgement until then. I did want to wrap my hands around them and see them in person though since we have been looking at a few other SUVs.

The Macan S is really nice. Comfortable driving position, definitely has the "wow" factor moreso than the SQ5 in terms of exterior looks. Rear cargo space seems pretty small, although the seats fold down. Interior is ok, lots of buttons...you feel like you are in a pilot's seat. The headlights rest inside oval shaped holes in the hood, so when you open the hood it has two gaping holes in it which is cool/weird. They do start at around $49k but the one I looked at with options that I personally would want (16 way heated / cooled seats, navi) it got into the 60's. That is Porsche though you're going to get nickled and dimed for basically every option.

I can see why Audi has taken over the luxury segment. The SQ5 was really nice. It had a lot more rear cargo space than most of the SUVs in that segment, definitely more than the Porsche..especially with the seats folded down. Significantly more rear leg room than the Porsche as well, and interestingly I can't even find the interior specs online for the P car. Typical beautiful Audi interior. I looked at the S6 as a potential replacement for the XFR in the future while I was there and it has an incredible interior and feel to it but it has a surprisingly weak exhaust note for a V8. I also have the same gripe with it as I do with the SQ5. Why does Audi make their exterior styling so average? Until you get to their highest end cars (RS) they look so plain...the S models look basically the same as every other car in the series. There really is no wow factor unless you hit the aftermarket with a few thousand bills in your hand. I would even argue that some of their RS cars could get lost in the crowd. It's not enough to turn me off from considering one but it's something to think about.

Want to bring the wife back to peep them and maybe get some test drive time on all 3 cars

I've decided I want a 6-speed manual Cayenne GTS as a tow vehicle.

Minus the cost of insurance, cost of maintenance, and the stigma of "drives a Porsche, must be rich" that could get tiring (G, do you get that much?)... god it would be so kickass.

Haha oddly enough I got a little bit of that from a neighbor yesterday. He was introducing me to a friend and he's like, "He's got a garage full of fast toys, a Porsche, a go kart, a bike..." Maybe I need to join a support group for having a greed for speed.

Occassionally I've had coworkers say something like 'Man I need to get paid like you,' but nothing too rude/ignorant/whatever.

I didn't check any out when I was at the dealer however a quick autotrader search in my area shows them in the low $60k range for lowish mileage 2010/2011s and $75-80k range for newer models.

Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - WRXtranceformed - 07-17-2014

Has anyone ever really looked at these? Justin why did I think you bought one for your wife or something? Are they good?
