.RJ Wrote:I am beating a dead horse here, but the Ridgeline will handle all of that stuff and be nicer to live for your suburban daddy watch shopping duties. The only thing it wont do is tow a car as well as a "real" truck. When you go to the beach just rent a jeep rather than tear up your daily driver with salt and sand.

Nothing wrong with just saying "I WANT A GODDAMN V8 GODDAMMIT" and I understand that one too
Haha yea, nicer I think is relative as the new GMCs are really really nice and comfortable. Aside from my other niggles the new (and old) Ridgelines also have the styling strike against them for me.

The newer Sierras have some ridiculous incentives right now and you can get a gently used fairly loaded example for about the same price as a new Canyon....the V8 sway is strong despite it not fitting my requirement of being able to fit in my garage.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 01-21-2016

So Audi has released 2017 R8 pricing: http://www.autoblog.com/2016/01/20/2017 ... 150-video/

R8 V10: starting at $164k
R8 V10 Plus: starting at $191k

Not surprised at the pricing, but still a bit pricey for what it is. Will be interesting to see whether they ever bring back the V8 trim. I guess the regular V10 model lines up well with the 911 Turbo, and I think some people will prefer a mid-engined supercar that is a bit more exclusive to the 911. My major criticism of this car is that the design doesn't differentiate itself enough from the first gen.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 01-21-2016

Unrelated but I see a 1st-gen V8 R8 parked on the street outside of one of the shittiest apartment complexes you can find in Herndon, VA. $600 Rent / $1500 car payment? :dunno:

Why no turbos? I mean, c'mon. 191k kiloclams and I only get 600hp?

Re: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 01-21-2016

That SOUND tho, it's gotta count for something:

Just throw an MTM supercharger on it and you'll get your boost fix

This is for sure one of the more livable "supercars". I was surprised how comfortable I was in my last ride along

Well, I'm sure a $1500 apartment isn't as exciting as that R8 8) Big Grin :dunno:

Re: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 01-21-2016

Eat ramen and drive R8. Yes pls

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 01-21-2016

It did give me some good perspective. I worry a lot that I'm incurring a huge opportunity cost on myself by spending so much money on cars, but at least I'm not driving an R8 while renting a ratty ass apt that doesn't even have its own parking lot.

Just graduated college and spent almost $1200 a month in bar tabs/food tabs. Can't decide if R8 would have been a better choice.

That smile and laugh when he describes how his brother bought a house and skipped the car of his dreams, and he bought the car of his dreams and skipped the house....priceless

When I finally quit drinking, that's exactly how I justified the bump in car payment of the Jag over the old Caddy

dibs on the m3

Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 01-21-2016

I mean for almost 200k the v10 does like 0-60 in 2.6 seconds? And it is N/A with 600hp. I think that's quite impressive....

In drop top??? Who needs retirement accounts. At least one could drown out the wails of the common populace after the markets collapse with that new titanium exhaust note:

Goddamn that convertible looks good. Count me in, but for RWD and no spoiler.

I dub thee: Mr. Slideways

No but for real, I have read a lot about how tail happy / unnerving the RWD V8S F Types are. I guess that could be part of the appeal, or terror, depending on how comfortable you are with your driving skills and your insurance policy

I think for most drivers, the AWD is the smart choice.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 01-22-2016

I kinda like the idea of these sports cars with decent entry level prices that also have bonkers hardcore trim levels. GT350, GT4, SVR, gotta love it. Kinda curious to see what the Mercedes AMG GT black edition will turn out like.
