Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 04-18-2013 So... victory in the senate today! Is this round of gun-control over? :dunno: Sorry for the lowest quality video possible, but it's always funny listening to Feinstein: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cvLMu2iNbA Obama is sad too: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/20 ... ashington/ Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 04-18-2013 funny how all the media outlets today are all parroting Obama's message about how its the fault of the evil NRA lobbyists for manipulating Senators into voting against what the american people want. which is, of course, completely false. http://www.gallup.com/poll/161813/few-g ... 20Politics Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 04-18-2013 I did find two "90% of americans" sources, I was curious. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-34222_162-5 ... nd-checks/ http://www.quinnipiac.edu/institutes--c ... aseID=1847 Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 04-18-2013 Id like to see the survey and how the questions were written. "Do you support back ground checks for firearm purchases? -Yes Or was it worded to call out what the new background checks would entail? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 04-18-2013 rex was funny this morning... "i'm sure the question would be along the same lines as; have you stopped beating your wife?" Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 04-18-2013 I dont remember who it was, Colbert or Stewart. But in regards to polls, it was along the lines of. "We are taking the advice/decisions of our nation from people who still have landlines and answer calls from blocked/unknown numbers." Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 04-18-2013 that survey question was for gun background checks in general. Which, as far as I know, already happen in all states. (anyone know of any states that dont?) NOT national federal government run background checks/gun registry which is what obama is pushing for. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 04-18-2013 btw, If anything good comes out of the boston bombings, hopefully it will be more pressure cooker control legislation. nobody possibly needs more than 8 ounce capacity to cook Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 04-18-2013 pressure cookers are dangerous anyway under normal use! If we could JUST SAVE ONE LIFE IT WOULD BE WORTH IT!! 14 children injured in pressure cooker blast Rayagada (Orissa), Dec 11, (PTI): At least 14 children were injured, three of them seriously, after a pressure cooker blew up in Orissa's Rayagada district, the police said today. The mishap occurred at Kenduguda, about 130 km from here last night when the students of a local school aged between 10 and 15 years, were preparing food in the pressure cooker. It went off as the whistle opened automatically with a huge sound. The heated particles of the metal spread in all parts of the house causing burn injury to children, who were staying together in a private mess. While the seriously injured were shifted to MKCG Medical College Hospital at Berhampur, the rest are being treated at a local community health centre. *edit* Someone should goto this tonight, should be fun: "Second Amendment Support Night" TONIGHT (Thursday, April 18) in Arlington from 6:30 PM until 9 PM. It is sponsored by the Arlington Tea Party and is open to the public. Come out to show support for VCDL and to also hear the other participants: Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America and Glenn A. Caroline with the NRA. The topic is the current governmental efforts to restrict the exercise of our 2nd Amendment rights. The event is being held at: Upstairs, at the RiRa Irish Pub 2915 Wilson Blvd. (Clarendon) Arlington, VA 22201 (703-248-9888) Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 04-18-2013 Eh, I think those references are in poor taste. I understand the point you're trying to make, but it's lame. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - BLINGMW - 04-18-2013 Sorry :dunno: Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 04-18-2013 You should get charged by the :dunno: ![]() What everyone should be more concerned about is increased camera and drone activity/acceptance as a result of all the pictures and video being critical to the investigation. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 04-18-2013 BLINGMW Wrote:*edit* I may just go to that. Traffic is a bitch but I'll play it by ear. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 04-18-2013 Apoc Wrote:Eh, I think those references are in poor taste. I understand the point you're trying to make, but it's lame.I heard no complaints of poor taste from anywhere when gun control was called for while the newtown bodies were still warm. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 04-18-2013 Then you weren't paying attention. Modeling your behavior after someone whose practice you disagree with just makes you look like a reductionist and hurts the pro-gun argument, IMO. We know guns aren't the problem, just like we know pressure cookers aren't the problem. We should take the high road in emphasizing that point. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 04-18-2013 I whole heartedly disagree. I think that illustrates the point, and the hypocrisy succinctly and effectively in a way that is much harder to ignore or tune out for the typical anti-nra idiots. Im not interested in worrying about hurting someones feelings while talking about the loss of a fundamental human right. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 04-18-2013 I agree it effectively illustrates the point and I also don't really care about other people's feelings. I just wish people would choose to point out the hypocrisy without sarcasm because it strengthens our argument instead of weakening it. Splitting hairs? Maybe... but people already think gun advocates are cold and heartless; we don't need to reinforce that.
