You could also check the box to see if it says "HDMI". But yeah, non-elites probably don't come with a cord. - WRXtranceformed - 11-09-2007 Playing Guitar Hero III on my new TV is unbelievable... the scrolling buttons you have to hit are like as big as baseballs  - Mike - 11-09-2007 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Mike Wrote:They don't all come with it. Oh, anyone with a 360 needs to get CoD4... it's silly. - WRXtranceformed - 11-09-2007 Mike Wrote:NEXT PURCHASE!!!CaptainHenreh Wrote:Mike Wrote:They don't all come with it. On a non-elite [to get HDMI, but no cord], you need to check the batch number. Google... - WRXtranceformed - 11-10-2007 Picked up CoD4 today, got the 1080p VGA cables. I was talking to the kid at GameStop and he said it doesn't make much of a difference, but I've going to give it a go and if I can't really tell I'll just return it. Also bought the performance plan for my new TV from Best Buy because I figured it would be a good idea since it was a display model and the cost of the bulb would probably be = or > the cost of the plan when it needs to be replaced. - WRXtranceformed - 11-11-2007 Well, I picked up the VGA cable today while I was at Best Buy, but the new TV doesn't have an input for it. It has every possible input, including a cable card input (lol), 3 HDMIs etc etc. but not one of those. It does have a PC / DVI input that doesn't quite fit up with the VGA input... it's a little bit bigger than the PC input. Is there any way I can still link it up to this TV without sacrificing 1080p quality? I thought I remember seeing some new component cables that transmitted 1080p at BB too, so if this doesn't work I'll just return it and get those cables I guess. I wish my XBOX had HDMI =( - Mike - 11-11-2007 your options are vga or component. you COULD try picking up a vga to dvi adapter for a few bucks, but i have no idea what that'll do to a xbox signal since they are so finicky. if that doesn't work out, the standard xbox component cables SHOULD work. - WRXtranceformed - 11-11-2007 Cool thanks Mike, I'll probably give the other components a try! CoD4 isn't easy btw. - Apoc - 11-11-2007 Do most of you guys just run HDMI straight to the audio receiver and take HDMI out from there to the TV? - HAULN-SS - 11-11-2007 gamertag: Hank Ringworm for CoD4. Me and my buddy play on that account, have a level 37 soldier so far. - WRXtranceformed - 11-11-2007 Hmmm I'm glad I got the performance plan on the new TV, it b0rked already!! I'm still within the 30 day return too, so I'm going to talk to the repair guy on the phone before he comes out so I can return the TV and the plan if I need to (I don't think you can return the plan after you've used it once). - navin - 11-11-2007 Bulb burn out already? - WRXtranceformed - 11-11-2007 I don't know. When it turns on, it sets itself on a timer. When it finally powers up, I get a message that says "TV will turn itself off in several seconds. Please check for adequate air flow"... the TV has plenty of airflow so I dunno what that's about. Then it stays on for about 30 seconds, turns itself off, and the "status" light stays yellow and the "lamp" light blinks green. So maybe it is the lamp, who knows. - navin - 11-11-2007 Dahh, that sucks. I'm glad I bought the protection plan too for my Samsung. I've had some scares where the TV didnt power on for a minute or two. - Mike - 11-11-2007 i've had no issues w/ my free 42" samsung plasma since i've had it
- Maengelito - 11-11-2007 anyone else with a wii planning on getting mario galaxy on tues? - Apoc - 11-11-2007 Mike Wrote:i've had no issues w/ my free 42" samsung plasma since i've had it No one really asked but that's for the update. HDMI to receiver anyone? - Mike - 11-12-2007 Apoc Wrote:Mike Wrote:i've had no issues w/ my free 42" samsung plasma since i've had it two guys were commenting on their samsung HDTVs. seems perfectly valid that i'd chime in with my experience, no? re: hdmi to receiver... if you've got a bling receiver, everything should go through that and you should only be piping a video feed out from it to your tv... - Apoc - 11-12-2007 Yeah but you threw in that you got it for free... like you have countless other times before. Everyone knows and is jealous. I think I'm going to be able to run the 360 and DTV HDMI but run Component for the DVD and Wii. My DVD players only supports Component and I don't even think the Wii supports HDMI so I guess that's not really a problem. Another question... since I'm somewhat of a 360 n00b. Are you guys running the rechargeable pack in the controllers or just replacing batteries? Also, what games should be on my short list? H3, GoW and ....? - HAULN-SS - 11-12-2007 CoD4 needs to be on the top. It's ridiculous. rechargeable packs ftw. |
