STILL?!? - Feersty - 11-11-2007 yes, I overused still in that sentence. - Feersty - 11-19-2007 Feersty Wrote:I just got my paperwork in the mail today for my next 6 month premium. I found out that the being 25 doesn't go into affect until the premium after my birthday, so its January 2008. I got my paperwork for my next premium today. January 2008 to July 2008. It dropped to 480.82$ for 6 months full coverage. Not bad. I may call them and see if I can make it any cheaper. Obvi crystal clean record. - WRXtranceformed - 11-25-2007 Well, a deer smashed into me the other night. Its head hit the front driver's side quarterpanel and the body whipped around and dented the drivers and rear passenger door. Headlight is broken but still works. Boy do I wish my deductible was 500 now  Damage is going to be well over $1000 though, and ironically the deer couldn't have hit in a better spot. The car still drives fine although probably needs a realignment, but every panel it hit was one that had been damaged in a previous accident by the previous owner. Whatever body shop worked on it didn't do a great job and there were small wrinkles and misalignments in the sheet metal. Most people can't see it, but I could tell. So we'll see how good Allstate is, and whether my premium goes up even though it's not an at-fault accident. - Apoc - 11-25-2007 Don't use the shop they suggest. Get an estimate from an independent shop you trust and use them. - WRXtranceformed - 11-25-2007 Yeah there's a shop literally right up the street from me who is owned by the father of a friend of mine. He does fantastic work; he's done stuff for almost every one of the cars I've owned, and he's the main body guy for every local Subaru dealer. Fortunately he is a direct Allstate shop so I took it there and he already got it sized up. I'll only be doing business with him. - .RJ - 11-25-2007 Lee, check your PM's - WRXtranceformed - 11-25-2007 Replied =) - JackdaMak - 11-25-2007 I don't have State Farm but I do know that if the guy that hits you on the road does, they are really easy to deal with and they do a good job. So not only do they take care of you but they seem to take care of the people you hit also

So not only do they take care of you but they seem to take care of the people you hit also depends on the agent. well, that goes for pretty much every insurance situation. a friend of mine was hit on the side of his Z3 by some uva chick that has state farm. her agent is at the HQ of state farm which is in charlottesville. it took them 2 months to accept fault for claim because they "couldnt get a hold of her to get her side of the story" even though my friend had her phone #, email, permanent address, and her facebook info. state farm is now trying to screw him over with the rental car he had for 2 months which is like $3k. again, it all depends on the situation as this is only one data point, but sorry to hear this happened lee. make sure you are happy with 100% of the work after the car gets fixed. my suby's rear corner is still misaligned because i got fed up with dealing with the body shop that fixed it. - JackdaMak - 11-26-2007 Maengelito Wrote:her agent is at the HQ of state farm which is in charlottesville. it took them 2 months to accept fault for claim Maybe HQ is so busy it has to try and BS its way through a lot of claims. Don't get an agent based at SF HQ Problem solved.

Maybe this is why letting your insurance company handle the situation is better.... - Maengelito - 11-26-2007 .RJ Wrote:Maengelito Wrote:it took them 2 months to accept fault for claim because they "couldnt get a hold of her to get her side of the story" even though my friend had her phone #, email, permanent address, and her facebook info. state farm is now trying to screw him over with the rental car he had for 2 months which is like $3k. it could be, but it shouldnt be that way, ya know. |
