Damn that thing has a lot of power!". :-).

How about you locking it up on the straight and nearly taking out that mustang Wink. I'm guessing you expected a point and never got it?

Lol, do de do...

If it's the one I'm thinking of, he slowed down way early and yeah, I was probably already in passing mode :-).

Sat: Finished 2nd. Not bad considering.

Sun: Under the class track record in practice (unofficial). Qual on pole by over a second. Started in 3rd gear, nailed the start but didnt have enough torque. Tyler got by me but I got him back a lap later. Checked out, I couldnt even see P2 behind me at the end.

Awesome dude! Congrats on the mad driving skills. I know those guys hate it when that orange plate flys by them ;-). "damn rookie!"

He's not a rookie any longer, if I recall the conversation correctly, Sunday's race completed his rookie requirements.

Did any of the workers, or drivers in group three notice a chick in a Lotus Exige driving poorly, running people off track? One of the group three drivers mentioned this to me today, but I don't remember hearing anything at all about it on the radio. Just wondering if anyone else saw anything.

- PDenbigh - 07-31-2006

She did not belong in group 3. All she did was point EVERYONE by. Not that pointing everyone by is a bad thing, but she was driving super slow, and I mean super slow. It would seem that she'd be much more comfortable in group 2 still.

- Mike - 07-31-2006

she's awful... she's been in group 3 for a while and hardly belongs in group 1. i've said things, everyone else in group 3 has said things... for whatever reason, nothing is done.

- Dragon - 07-31-2006

I don't know about her performance previously since I pay little or no attention to her, but I do know that she's only been in the Exige a few times, that's her husband's car, she's usually in a miata.

Not that it's totally relevant, but if I were driving Julie's 50,000 dollar car on track, I'd probably take it easy.

the miata is her stepson's, she used to drive a factory five but it got wrecked i think? I instructed her stepson in an elise (back before they traded it in on the exige) a year ago at vir, who spun on the warmup lap.

- Dragon - 07-31-2006

If memory serves she wrecked the factory five at a NASA-SE event.

- Evan - 07-31-2006

why are the words "factory five" and "wreck" so often used in the same sentence..........

not an exige, but there was a silver C6 corvette #89 that passed me under yellow without a point by coming out of T1. i came about two inches from side swiping him because i didnt know what the hell he was doing. god, that pissed me off.

Road Atlanta to be exact. I heard her telling someone about it at Shenandoah.

- Mike - 07-31-2006

she has been in her s2k a few events as well. apparently her husband doesn't want her to drive it on the track because it's too fast... the logic? hard to find.

She doesn't belong on track, period. I drove around her in groups 1 and 2 last year - I'm absolutely shocked that an instructor signed her off for group 3...

she wouldnt be the first woman with expensive body parts to move up the ranks a bit too quickly......
(meanwhile Jenny has years of experience and faster than most of the boys in her group but still is in gr 2...)

We all know that HPDE group is based on who you know, not how well you drive.
