Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - G.Irish - 07-08-2014 Evan Wrote:Is it based on the VW Tiguan or is it bigger than that?Bigger than the Tiguan, the Tiguan is built off the Golf platform, the Macan and Q5 are built off the Audi midsized longitudinally-mounted engine platform. I think that platform is under the A4, A5, A6, and A8 too. It's about the same size as a X3 or RDX I think. Maybe a touch wider. Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Beej - 07-09-2014 When we were looking for the car that wound up being the Jeep, my head was definitely turned in the direction of the Macan (which yeah, I didn't know it existed either) and X5-M...but the car was for her, and for me...I'd prefer some ridiculous German wagon. Still...I can see it happening. Glad to hear a favorable opinion from you, G! Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-09-2014 Idk what it is but there is a very slick looking used volvo suv up at one of the dealers by me. Maybe it's cause it's bright red but it looks very sporty and I'm as anti-volvo haven't changed their cars in 30 years as they come. Maybe the xc80? Idk, a Google search doesn't give me anything that looks at striking as this does Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Jake - 07-10-2014 XC90 R-Design?
Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - .RJ - 07-10-2014 I still have a soft spot for the S40 T5-R... AWD, 5-cyl turbo. Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-10-2014 Maybe it's a brand new xc90 but damn it looks good. Way more sporty than that. If im in that area today, I'll stop and check the number on the back and snap a pic. I might just be overly excited because it's in between a porche dealer and the bmw dealer so maybe I just imagine it looks sporty. Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - SlimKlim - 07-10-2014 I'ts probably the XC60 R-design. ![]() Pretty cute for a mall-runner. Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - WRXtranceformed - 07-10-2014 They look cool on the outside but the interior is serious boof. I don't think they have changed it in the last ten years (At least the used ones I just looked at) Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - *insertusernamehere* - 07-10-2014 Okay guys, really?! Come on now, i know our tastes aren't THAT different. An e60 is weird and ugly but these Volvo things are attractive? :? :evileye: Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-10-2014 For sport suv's? Yea they look pretty good. Unless you're talking range rover sport type money, it's hard to find an attractive suv. Kia's little suv thing looks pretty good too. It almost reminded me of a cheap RR but it would be a little small for family duty by the looks of it Edit: ehh they don't look as good as I thought I remember. At least not online. Maybe the one I saw had a different grill at it. Edit 2: maybe it was the Sorento I saw in person and it was the little one that came up in Google image Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - SlimKlim - 07-10-2014 I'd rather be seen in an XC90 than an E60. You still stand alone Matthew ![]() Yeah I tried to steer Lauren into checking out the Sorento when we were looking at the Optima. The main turnoff of the Sorento to me is they are still shoving the 3.3L V6 in it instead of the 2.0T. They'll sell it with a 2.4 N/A which must be an absolute dog, and the V6 produces similar power and less torque than the 2.0T. :dunno: Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - WRXtranceformed - 07-10-2014 We looked at the Sante Fe as a replacement for my wife's Elantra at some point in the future, but it's so boring. I keep seeing the older school GX470s around and I am strangely drawn to them in a soccer mom mobile sort of way. Like, if I got my wife one I wouldn't mind driving it around if it had a sweet set of wheels on it or something: ![]() Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - JPolen01 - 07-10-2014 :vomit: Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Evan - 07-10-2014 There is no worse stereotype on the road than the Lexus SUV driver. Yes, even worse than a 4' Asian woman driving texting on her iPhone. (And she is probably diving a Lexus SUV anyway) And its also ugly as fuck, and belongs nowhere NEAR a sport SUV thread so gtfo. Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - CaptainHenreh - 07-10-2014 Evan Wrote:And its also ugly as fuck, and belongs nowhere NEAR a sport SUV thread so gtfo. Yeah, Land Cruisers with wood trim are bullshit! Not sporty at all! They can go on unpaved roads! Overgrown wagons, built strictly because americans hate wagons for reasons I can't fathom. Carry on though. We can only hope that in a few years all the kids who grew up in SUVs are going to think they are uncool just like the people buying SUVs now think that the wagons they grew up in are uncool. And then we can have sleek, fun wagons. :dunno: Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Sully - 07-10-2014 Well since we don't get any cool affordable wagons here, back on topic. I was just about to say I was behind a new Santa fe today and noticed a sport 2.0T badge on the back Re: Sport SUV's, Love Em or Hate Em? - Apoc - 07-10-2014 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Evan Wrote:so this is where Rex tries to tell everyone that "sport" really means taking bloated overweight luxo barges offroading , and the fact that we have been talking about fast(ish)-on-pavement SUVs for 7 pages is irrelevant. :bootyshake: +1 |
