no glvoes in this cold is what suprises me, true soldier. i have done a few 30 miles commute round trips to my work. and dicing down 123 is the most petrifying thing.

some douche w/ spiked hair pulls all the way in to a crosswalk, i stop my tire within inches of his pretty 335... he just about cries.

buzzing fat people who take up the whole sidewalk even after you announce your presence.

SWEET JUMPS.

WHEELIES.

falling while trying to come to a stop... hitting the brakes is a serious chore when carrying a 16x16x16 box in your arms.

sadly, those are only 3 days of 100 i've ridden to work (started in april).

Seriously bro, that is so rad!!

I do think it's neat you can ride to work but definitely get your digs in on the drivers now. One of them is sure to kill you as you ignore every stop sign.

haha that was the first thing i noticed too - my hands were cold just watching it

no gloves: was a "warm" day. under 40 i wear gloves plus balaclava.

stop signs: as you may have seen, i saw 1 car in the first half of the video. the intersections i "blew" through i typically stop at. with no leaves on the trees i can see FAR FAR FAR as i approach. never been beeped at or even had anything approaching a close call (and drivers will beep at anything that makes them blink).

added years on my life: yeah, a 7 minute ride doesn't do much, but it does burn a few calories... better than nothing. i also run 5+ miles a day... Smile

thats absolutely tame compared to the cyclists in DC. Ive never seen a cyclist stop for a stoplight, stopsign, or anyone in a crosswalk. Lane splitting is common, as is riding wrong way down a one way street. One time a cyclist tried to yell at me because I wasnt giving him enough room while he was lane splitting.

You could argue you are adding years by not wasting 45mins each way driving to work (like me)

- Ryan T - 12-03-2008

That's awesome Mike. I've never heard of that band before but I really like that song. First lyric seems fitting to a bike ride, "It's gonna take a little time" haha. I also find it impressive you can ride that far with only 1 hand. If your going to make that into a regular thing maybe find a way to mount the camera to a helmet or onto your shoulder or something?

i've done the math when i was considering moving from my job in sterling to the one in arlington... it's a HUGE amount of extra time added to my life.

Cool video Mike. Makes me want to buy a bike and ride the 3.1 miles that I live from work.

you really should. 3.1 miles is a sin to drive... probably not great for the car.

Yes... because it's stupid if it isn't.

I bet the producers egged him on to do a burnout or something, but I doubt he dropped it on purpose

No I don't think so... but I'm pretty sure his doucheyness was all an act and that kinda ruined it for me. I can't imagine any judge putting up with that BS conversation.
