Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 09-30-2015

Well if Mazda doesn't make the rumored AWD Speed3 then the RX concept could get the sky 2.5 turbo motor coming out. Only time will tell

Fuck you!

But I'd take the old Mazdaspeed 3 motor.

Well, I mean, if they're gonna slap some turbos on the renesis then fine.

But if it's gonna be the same 200/137/13mpg piece of shit in the RX-8 then at least make it so I can put a v8 in it in a few years.

Porsche is just mocking me now. I thought it would be awhile before there was a more hardcore GT4 but they're already bringing the Clubsport next year. Tempting, so tempting.

EDIT: Not street legal. Never mind. If I'm gonna get something not street legal it's gonna weigh 1000 lbs less than this.

Rumors are up to 9 or 10 of these things are being used next year for Tudor Series...

Yeah I don't see these these being in the price range of your weekend racer despite what they say.

"The car is aimed at club racers, although it is also planned that it will be homologated to race in championships such as the Pirelli World Challenge and the Continental Sports Car Series in the USA."

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 10-07-2015

Speaking of silly low production run cars, the new M4 GTS does the tri-color accents on the interior so right

Door pulls, seatbelts, and bringing back the seat stripe from the E36.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need those seats in my car like, now.

Thats because alot of these guys are lying to themselves about what they spend to build a car

#Truth, Race Car Labor at Shops is insane. Since a lot of people build over time, they tend to ignore the bottom line.

Most GTS3-5 guys could have bought one if they just put up $ up front.

What I AM hoping is that these will be built in high quantity and lower the price of a Cayman since Cayman race cars command absolutely heinous $$$. Would love a Cayman GTS3/4 car.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 10-08-2015

Looks like the next generation Genesis could be getting a turbo'd 3.3 v6 and AWD as options.

Will be interesting to see how this thing ends up.

The 2016 BMW M2
[Image: 1472140797873519655.jpg]

Quote:According to Auto Express, the M2 gets the M235i’s turbo 3.0-liter inline six turned up to 370 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. An additional 25 lb-ft of torque comes from an overboost function.

Now, for the M stuff: the gearboxes, brakes, front and rear axles, crankshaft and pistons come from the M4 and M3, plus it has an extra water cooler to keep things chill. It’s also 78 pounds lighter than the M235i. Buyers get the option of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, just like the M4 and M3.

:vomit: Although I didn't like the new M3/4 all that much and am coming around to at least not hating the looks.

I don't love the new generation either. For me the sweet spot was the E90/92/93 generation.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - .RJ - 10-13-2015

$60k for an overcomplicated bucket of shit.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 10-13-2015

:dunno: Idk what you grumpy bastards are on about, that's the only new BMW in the past 5 years that's remotely done anything for me. Looks way better than the M3/M4, it's the right size, comes with a manual, what more do you want?

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 10-13-2015

You like it better than the 1M?

I'm not sold on the looks. The front has some sort of weird chubby cheeks thing going on. The back is pretty mehh too.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 10-13-2015

Well the 1-series looks horrid IMO. Not trying to be insulting, I do enjoy driving them, I've just never liked the way they are styled.

So compared to that yeah, I do like it better than the 1M based on styling alone. I think the fender flares help to fill out what is kinda "empty space" on the regular 2-series, the lines on the front bumper are a little weird, but at least in my opinion, they're a damn sight better than the bug-eyed 1-series or the uni-brow F30/F80.

EDIT: Actually I'll go even further, that's the first BMW since the E46 M3 went out of production that I actually want to own.

EDIT 2: Ok wait I just saw the weird ass reflectors on the rear bumper, not a fan of those at all, but I do like the rest of it.
