Last night the guy at the VW Dealer tried to tell us that the golf sportwagen was smaller inside than the alltrack. Its the same fucking body. And also that they got a smaller engine/turbo, which is true on the FWD cars but the AWD cars got same drivetrain. And had no idea the top trim level on the Alltrack got nicer seats. I have no fucking clue what you do if you dont educate yourself before going into a dealer. I had to wait until the guy walked off to tell my wife he was full of shit I didnt have the patience to get into it with him.
Do you not correct them? I just tell them they're wrong and prove it with a build sheet that's already on my phone.

I showed him on the window sticker and moved on

How about when neither the salesperson, GM, or the actual company know about the cars? I ordered another MB Metris for my business. They had made some package changes since the previous one, and now the configurator online showed rear door windows were standard on the package I was ordering. Great, I confirmed it on the phone with MB USA, and salesguy confirmed with GM. Guess what I got 3mo later?

So like, how are they planning to make it right and produce a van with rear door windows for ya?

Oh, they've ordered the parts and will have a local retrofit place install, which is pretty common when someone builds out a Sprinter. I still have no timetable on this yet and could had the van wrapped 2mo ago. I'm very interested to see what they plan to do to earn my business for next time....

Does anyone else work for a company that recently acquired their largest competitor? I have people constantly sending me quotes they received from our competitor (which we acquired a year ago) in an attempt to negotiate using the previous company's pricing. This drives me up the wall. We bought the competitor to take them out of the market; of course we increased our prices! Sending me a year old quote from a company that does not exist is not a good negotiating tactic.

Just let out a long, low, whistle and say 'wow, that's a great price! Unfortunately I won't be able to come close to that, I shouldn't say this but if were you I would buy it from them.'

Then just wait for your phone to ring back.

People that can't fucking drive.

I'm turning left, out of my office complex, into a neighborhood with 2 lanes of traffic. Guy is turning left into the complex and stops and sits there. I know he is trying to be nice and wants me to go, but this is not correct. Don't be nice - follow the rules of the road and stop putting people in danger. I just sat there for a minute until he got the hint.

He was driving a fuckin prius of course.

In Seattle, people won't make a turn until the pedestrian is ON THE SIDEWALK even if there are multiple lanes of travel.

buckle up for a long ride called The Rest of Your Life.

its only getting worse, and people are sucking at life in increasingly dangerously sized vehicles.  best of luck out there everyone.

I watched a lady sit at a long time four way stop that they are putting traffic lights at but they still have black covers over all lights and multiple signs and flags saying 4 way stop ahead. We were both going straight opposite each other so I thought she was just nervous at first cause I went so quickly knowing we wouldn't interfere with each other. I looked at her when I passed and saw she was kinda ducking down looking ahead. I was confused. When I looked in my mirror and the cars were starting to back up and she was still just sitting there, I realized she thinks that black covered light is going to change...

I just drive around people now. The nice thing about driving in DC proper is that most rules can just be ignored, provided you stop at red lights and go the speed limit for the speed cameras, and you can get away with almost anything. Doubly so when you're in a truck.

Give any Smart car branded with Car2go a very wide berth, it's undoubtedly someone who sold their 1997 Camry when they moved here from the midwest and hasn't driven in nine years but suddenly has to go to Ikea.

RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 06-07-2019

I do enjoy driving in DC for that reason alone. It's anything goes. Just watch out for the #scootergang

RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 06-07-2019

driving in DC is only fun after 10pm

RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Apoc - 06-07-2019

People who ask you questions about items you're selling that can be answered by a Google search.

Even worse, ding dong that has his phone out, looking at the calendar invite, and then asking what time the training starts tomorrow.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES YOUR PHONE SAY THAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT.

Oh, 9am?  Yes it starts at 9am.  Whats the question again?

RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Apoc - 06-07-2019

People who live over an hour away and want me to meet them 75% of the way to their place to sell them something.

I will travel as far as the end of my street, or wherever the nearest Starbucks is.
