WRXtranceformed Wrote:Nice I like that mount. Why did I put 560+whp into a Subaru? Come on now you all know me well enough now. Because Lee.

You misunderstand. I am not saying "Oh, lee, your rifle is good enough stop fucking with it." I'm saying, "Lee, quit putting a bunch of cheap, heavy shit you don't need on your fuckin' stick."

You put 560hp in a subaru, you didn't put 4 14" chinese autozone subs and chrome spinner hubcaps on it, k?

My family does 'dirty santa' every year, kinda like chinese christmas. We always make $50 our limit. This year I ended up with a stack-on drawer safe and I'm pretty impressed for $50. After fiddling with it I think it will become a permanent fixture both in my sock drawer and for travel (I'll buy a second). It comes with hardware to mount inside a drawer or basically wherever you want. Programmable code of 3-8 digits and a key backup if you forget your combination or really need in it fast. What I do in my drawer is enter the combination before I go to bed and unlock it. That way if I need to access it during the night all I have do to is open the top. Get up in the morning, twist the lock and it's locked down for the day. Also handy for when we have guests over with little kids, don't have to take it out and lock it in the safe or lock my entire drawer shot. As for travel, the state gives us a box to secure our weapons in while traveling but it's bigger, heavier, and flimsier in my opinion.

Fits my G19, 3 extra mags and identification with room to spare for a passport, cash, rings, whatever you'd like to put in there.

Sweet. That exact model has been in my Amazon shopping cart for like two months. :-D

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - G.Irish - 12-17-2012

Speaking of which, how are most of you securing your home-defense handguns? Not sure if I'll actually be buying something but just wanted some feedback.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 12-17-2012

on my person or by my bed ... i have a glass faced gun cabnet, doesnt offer any real security so i dont lock my shit up Smile if its too secure i cant get to it fast enough

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 12-17-2012

In the nightstand drawer. Once the lil one starts moving around though a drawer safe is in my future.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 12-18-2012

I keep most everything in the safe, except for the "nightstand gun" which is israeli loaded "close by".

I might look into something like this, though.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 12-18-2012

Finger safe bolted to the floor. Looking into a large sweet lighted floor safe for the rifle and future collection. I completely understand and agree with the argument of easiest access possible. NC has weird gun security laws when children are in your home though and even though I have no kids a lot of my friends do who come over every now and then. It's better to be safe than sorry. FWIW I have practiced my combination and back-up key entry dozens of times in the dark / middle of the night just so I feel comfortable quickly opening and accessing my HD weapon.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 12-18-2012

Nice, they are sold out on PSA's website. I already have I think 4 or 5 mags now, should be all set for zombies.

Anyone find good deals online for bulk ammo right now? Ammoman is down to tracers again, PSA is sold out of most of their bulk stuff.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 12-18-2012

You guys aren't gonna find jack for the next month or two.

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 12-18-2012

Yeah that was my thought too. It's all good, finally getting some range time in on Thursday so I can figure out what this thing likes to eat (I have about 5 different brands / types)

Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 12-18-2012

There's some good feedback about the safe Ryan posted on Amazon about one handed operation. If you mount on it's side, with the hinge at the bottom, you essentially get gravity to do all the work. One quick pull of the tab/handle and the door drops open versus having to actually lift the lid and possibly fight to keep it open when you're half asleep.

Lol no lie, I just saw that when I hit their site earlier. I laughed, that is absurd even for penetrator rounds

Should have started your search much earlier in the year.
