D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Seriously, if you think turbocharging a car to monstrous powers is easier/more reliable/less headaches than just throwing in a 400-420 (LS2-LS3) than you are crazier than me Tongue And if your still even crazier, you could throw a rear mount turbo on the LS and be insanely stupid. Bolt on Rearmount turbos for vettes put down 600rwhp without going into the engine.

And if your going for just 300rwhp, then yeah a simple supercharger kit, but that build is beyond just a simple supercharger kit.

I agreed that the LS would be a better starting point if you wanted huge numbers

I wasn't trying to defend that guys set up - more the idea of F/I on a BMW as an easier way to gain power than an engine swap.

H&B? Yea or nay? New special edition factory color for the M3. I haven't been hugely fond of these cars mostly because of the d-bags that drive them around here like they are F1 cars, but this one definitely made it move a little down there for me.

I'm not a fan of all black wheels but that body color...lovin it.

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - ScottyB - 10-06-2009

the last picture makes that color look amazing. all the body sculpting is going crazy.

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - REED - 10-06-2009

oh wow, i was under the impression we weren't getting that special edition here in the states

looks hawt

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-06-2009

Looks like a dark satin gray. I dont know if I would still like it over a white one though...

+1

Looks like someone painted it with a couple cans of Krylon.

^ Ack, I hate hate haaaaaate aftermarket wheels on FGTs. I've rambled on about how C6 'Vettes simply cannot take other-than-factory wheels, and except for like 2-3 non OEM wheels, Cobras as well. But the FGT is my ultimate un-molestable car. Its like putting dubs on a Le Mans GT40.

Thoughts on this? Its grown on me a lot lately. Perhaps pretty isn't the word, but its strangely beautiful to me.

i think it looks more cool than beautiful. definitely like the red better, too.

True. I think, for me, its an excellent combination of being unique but not shouty; I'm a sucker for understatement/subtlety. At least with the doors closed, and without the ginormous emblem, its a gentleman's GT with a loooong hood. Do want.

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - Jake - 10-11-2009

Cool, love the bigass logo and mouth, definitely better in red. I'm a huge fan of the long nose, short cockpit design - shooting brake, I guess?

You didn't catch the Gurney bubble, did ya?

I saw that and figured the owner must be a giant. What's the story?

Re: Cars that get you all hot and bothered - JustinG - 10-12-2009

people sometimes do the Gurney bubble for cosmetic reasons not just so they fit.

The guy that previously owned that particular GT was a Mod on the FGT Forums. He was a BIG guy (round and tall) so he had the bubble installed for track days when wearing a helmet for hours on end would put a kink in his neck as it was a tight fit for him even without the helmet. He passed away within the last couple months and his car has since been put up for sale by his family.

And for those at home who don't know how much of a badass Dan Gurney is, here ya go - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Gurney
