doubled up on YGE this AM. (originally got in at 5.50, have been with it at 7.20, rebought today at 5.50). i really think this is going to be a good long play. they keep announcing deals, solar has a bright [haha] future (and is grossly beaten down right now), and the chinese will always be able to produce parts cheaper than we can... soar baby, soar!

sold out of ueps and fnxmf.pk yesterday. bought some atvi late last week just because i like them as a business.

my dumbass said to myself early this morning "hrm, that's weird, best buy stock hasn't moved on this cc news? i should buy." i didn't, and it goes up 10% this pm.

Actually, no they wouldn't. Those products have no profit margins.

I wonder if they stole this article from Mikey.

I ended up buying a stem cell stock a week or two ago. It's going up like crazy on speculation that Obama will be putting in new legislation on stem cells and possibly giving funding to companies.

ACTC if anyone is interested. I'm up 65% as of today

- Dave - 01-23-2009

prob getting a lot of activity b/c of this too:

i love being able to learn a thing or two about the companies i invest in.

- flintster55 - 01-26-2009

What's that supposed to mean?

- Mike - 01-26-2009

a typical penny stock has nothing more than market info on it. no news, no analyst opinions, no financials, etc.

- flintster55 - 01-26-2009

Well there's been plenty of news about ACTC, see a few posts up.

But MCET is pretty much a straight penny stock and I understand that. They still have financials and news, just no analyst opinions like you said.

I wouldn't be buying either of them without being able to learn a thing or two about them though.

- Mike - 02-06-2009

bought some bank of america yesterday. up 17% today Smile

reasoning: they may be having troubles, but they're not going anywhere. if anything, BAILOUT. easy money IMO.

While you have a good point, keep in mind that if it gets nationalized (and don't fool yourself into thinking thats impossible) your shares go to 0. It also fluctuates pretty violently, so to me it sounds like playing with fire (sometimes that's a good thing, every good portfolio needs a little volatility)

it's not a long play. with 20% return already, i'm likely out this afternoon.

Have any of you guys read this story by Michael Lewis? It's about a 15 year old who manipulated the markets and came away with a little less than a million bucks.

ya, certainly not a bad day, but there have been plenty of bad ones leading up to it. overall, i'm up about 10% since i began to play just before the big crash in september (my only loss has been apple, which i'm in heavily).
