Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - Gs dewd - 02-28-2011 ViPER1313 Wrote:Top tip to all DSM owners - make sure that your fuel injector wiring plugs are not completely corroded. I have no idea how the car was running with the plugs as corroded as they were. 1 of the plugs was already broken and another broke during dis assembly - 4 new 2G style plugs are coming in the mail. Now 2 broken ones are being held together by zip ties until the new ones arrive.Zip ties? Hell to us DSM owners that a permanent fix. No need to order new parts there. Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - ViPER1313 - 05-02-2011 Just picked up and installed DSMLink v3 Lite for the car.... now with more antilag and no lift to shift  I am still figuring out how to use everything in the software. I need to find out why I am getting knock after I let the clutch out with the NLTS, but otherwise very happy with the purchase. Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - ViPER1313 - 06-01-2011 I need to update this thread with some new pictures with everything back together, but the car is coming along bit by bit. I installed a new knock sensor and a real block off plate for my EGR this past weekend, and I redid the NLTS clutch cut wiring to use the top clutch switch (cruise control) instead of the bottom one (starter disable.) I am going to pick up a set of EVO 9 wheels tonight for the RA-1s I bought from DJ - I want to do some AutoXing this summer  . DSMLink is absolutely awesome. I also detailed the car this weekend, and wish I had Stephanie take pictures. It was pretty much the opposite of Premier Shine's work, and included lots of 1000/2000 grit sand paper and using a hose to peal off clear coat  Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - ScottyB - 06-01-2011 ViPER1313 Wrote:I also detailed the car this weekend, and wish I had Stephanie take pictures. I kicked around the idea of selling the Talon, but Stephanie convinced me to spend the coin to take it to where I have always wanted it. The car was running poorly, boosting at very high rpm, and burning a quart of oil through the valve stem seals every 1k miles. I tore apart the manifold and found that the ring seal around the manifold had broken and fallen into the turbo opening, restricting almost all the exhaust flow. I have now amassed a small fortune of parts to redo everything, but better. I have all the DSM special tools if you need them. It lives! Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - Jeff - 05-29-2013 Badass. Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - ScottyB - 05-29-2013 yeeeees. looking forward to this monster. Has anyone tried to DIY clean a stuck injector (these were fine before they sat In a ziplock bag for 3 years.) Definitely the injector itself at fault. Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - rherold9 - 03-19-2016 3 years... electrical issue? Maybe. I put a multimeter to the injector harness, I have voltage while running, but when I put a mechanics stethoscope to it no click. Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - rherold9 - 03-19-2016 Try swapping injectors l. As in from cylinder to cylinder if you haven't done so Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - Kaan - 03-20-2016 I'd just ship them to Xavier and have him do all the injectors Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - JustinG - 03-20-2016 If only someone posted on your FB page and told you the same thing Kaan did. Just do it you cheap bastard Re: Project 1990 Eagle Talon TSI - ViPER1313 - 03-20-2016 I think it was just some corrosion between the connector and injector, I bench tested it and it worked fine, so I swapped injectors and put it back in, firing on all 4 now.
