I heard some kind of ethnic / racial slur was said by the dirty Italian that got pwned.

Supposedly something about Zidane being a terrorist, as apparently his family is originally from Algeria, or something like that.

Fucking fag Italians, I'm still bitter they won. Even though I don't particularly love the French. Watching the Italian team is like watching a bunch of women in a soap opera who happen to be good at soccer. No one person really stuck out on that team, and the fact that the US did pretty well against them doesn't say much for the depth of their team.

I heard the same thing about Zidane, but Mazzerati denied saying that earlier today. To be honest, nobody will ever know except for those two. And besides, its not like Zidane hasn't done shit like this in the past...why is everybody so eager to defend him? Mazzerati did what any professional athelete would do:get in his opponents head. I dont give a shit what he said, bar none, Zidane had no fucking reason to headbutt him. He deserved what he got.

I dont understand what people dont like about the italians? Yes they dive, but everybody dives. They gave up two goals all tournament: an own goal and a PK. All I read online is how France outplayed them the entire second half/OT. WHO CARES. Italy won the fuckin game, and thats all that matters in the end.

If you watch the full replay, they seem totally cordial with each other, even sort of love-pat each other until Zidane walks away, then that fag says something to him and he instantly looks pissed. Was it justified what he did? No way! He pretty much lost the game for his team. But, who's to say what was said to him? If you were part of a racial minority and someone yelled a slur at you, do you think you'd be able to compose yourself... especially in a situation with that much stress?

I'm mostly bitter because I lost a bet to a chick on the outcome of this game and now I have to get a professional pedicure. FUCK YOU ITALY!

Oh, in no way do I think I would have just sat back and taken some racial slur or something like that. Hell, I used to get in fights in my baseball games for a lot lesser shit than that. Well considering that FIFA has made it clear that there would be severe penalties for any racist behavior during this World Cup it'll be interesting to see if Materazzi is punished somehow, or even the Italian team. I can't imagine they'd punish the team though.

Technically no, but it was an insult aimed at his ancestry so its similar. Someone wouldn't call an Asian player a terrorist or a black player or an English player. It was specifically aimed at his Algerian ethnic heritage.
