- WRXtranceformed - 07-11-2006 I heard some kind of ethnic / racial slur was said by the dirty Italian that got pwned. Supposedly something about Zidane being a terrorist, as apparently his family is originally from Algeria, or something like that. Fucking fag Italians, I'm still bitter they won. Even though I don't particularly love the French. Watching the Italian team is like watching a bunch of women in a soap opera who happen to be good at soccer. No one person really stuck out on that team, and the fact that the US did pretty well against them doesn't say much for the depth of their team. - damnit458 - 07-11-2006 WRXtranceformed Wrote:I heard some kind of ethnic / racial slur was said by the dirty Italian that got pwned. No offense but thats BS. I heard the same thing about Zidane, but Mazzerati denied saying that earlier today. To be honest, nobody will ever know except for those two. And besides, its not like Zidane hasn't done shit like this in the past...why is everybody so eager to defend him? Mazzerati did what any professional athelete would do:get in his opponents head. I dont give a shit what he said, bar none, Zidane had no fucking reason to headbutt him. He deserved what he got. I dont understand what people dont like about the italians? Yes they dive, but everybody dives. They gave up two goals all tournament: an own goal and a PK. All I read online is how France outplayed them the entire second half/OT. WHO CARES. Italy won the fuckin game, and thats all that matters in the end. - WRXtranceformed - 07-11-2006 damnit458 Wrote:You're full of shit Keith! :wink:WRXtranceformed Wrote:I heard some kind of ethnic / racial slur was said by the dirty Italian that got pwned. Of course Zidane deserved it, but of course Mazzerati would deny saying something like that. You're right though, only those two will know what was really said. If "getting into your opponents head" by saying something so ridiculous as to cause somebody to head butt you is what it takes for Italy to win, it doesn't surpise me in the least. Only a primadonna-ass, over-acting Italian soccer player would pull some bullshit like that =p If you watch the full replay, they seem totally cordial with each other, even sort of love-pat each other until Zidane walks away, then that fag says something to him and he instantly looks pissed. Was it justified what he did? No way! He pretty much lost the game for his team. But, who's to say what was said to him? If you were part of a racial minority and someone yelled a slur at you, do you think you'd be able to compose yourself... especially in a situation with that much stress? I'm mostly bitter because I lost a bet to a chick on the outcome of this game and now I have to get a professional pedicure. FUCK YOU ITALY! - WRXtranceformed - 07-11-2006 LMAO!: MILAN, Italy (AP) -- Marco Materazzi admits he insulted Zinedine Zidane before the France captain head-butted him in the World Cup final. Materazzi denies calling him a "terrorist." "I did insult him, it's true," Materazzi said in Tuesday's Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I categorically did not call him a terrorist. I'm not cultured and I don't even know what an Islamic terrorist is." Yeah fucking RIGHT! You've got to be kidding me, that's the most retarded shit I've ever heard. It's true Zidane hasn't had the cleanest of pasts, but neither has Materazzi: "Materazzi is no stranger to controversy. He was suspended for two months for punching Siena defender Bruno Cirillo after a Serie A game in February 2004, and earned condemnation following a brutal tackle on Sweden and Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in October 2005. Materazzi was also sent off three times while playing for Everton in the 1998-99 season. One Italian senator even suggested that Materazzi -- also sent off three times while playing for Everton in the 1998-99 season -- didn't merit selection for the Italian team because of his physical style." - damnit458 - 07-12-2006 WRXtranceformed Wrote:You're full of shit Keith! Oh, in no way do I think I would have just sat back and taken some racial slur or something like that. Hell, I used to get in fights in my baseball games for a lot lesser shit than that. I guess I should say, he shouldn't be blamed for getting upset, but he should be blamed for what he did after he got upset. Hell, for millions of dollars I think I could keep my forhead in check  . Oh, and are you telling me in all your soccer days lee if you knew you could say some slur like that and automatically get an opposing player kicked outta the game you wouldn't say it? I know I sure as hell would .Oh, and TTIWWOP once you get that pedicure  - Beej - 07-12-2006 Latest: Zidane is gonna speak. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 169342.stm - G.Irish - 07-12-2006 Well considering that FIFA has made it clear that there would be severe penalties for any racist behavior during this World Cup it'll be interesting to see if Materazzi is punished somehow, or even the Italian team. I can't imagine they'd punish the team though. - Evan - 07-12-2006 G.Irish Wrote:Well considering that FIFA has made it clear that there would be severe penalties for any racist behavior during this World Cup it'll be interesting to see if Materazzi is punished somehow, or even the Italian team. Someone wouldn't call an Asian player a terrorist or a black player or an English player. It was specifically aimed at his Algerian ethnic heritage. Of course, that's assuming that is what he said. Right now its all heresay. - damnit458 - 07-12-2006 G.Irish Wrote:Of course, that's assuming that is what he said. Right now its all heresay. And that is all it will every really be. Nobody could hear what was said in that game, so its Zidane's word against Materazzi's. I just dont see how they could actually punish him. - G.Irish - 07-12-2006 Lip readers could probably confirm or dispell Zidane's claims with a reasonable degree of certainty I imagine. But even then the worst I could see is maybe taking away Materazzi ring or whatever. - damnit458 - 07-12-2006 G.Irish Wrote:Lip readers could probably confirm or dispell Zidane's claims with a reasonable degree of certainty I imagine. But even then the worst I could see is maybe taking away Materazzi ring or whatever. There would be a huge uproar from italians if that happened. I dont see FIFA doing anything that severe. Oh, and I heard rumors that they had lipreaders look, and all he said was that he would take the shirt off Zidane's wife, or something similar to that. - G.Irish - 07-12-2006 damnit458 Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:Lip readers could probably confirm or dispell Zidane's claims with a reasonable degree of certainty I imagine. Either way there's no excuse for Zidane doing what he did. The best revenge would have been for his team to win. Then headbutt him. - damnit458 - 07-12-2006 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... 09&cc=5901 Insulted his mom/sister, but still not really any details.
