- BLINGMW - 05-04-2005 holy crap. I'm out 2 days, and miss out on all this! Can't keep up with you young'ns annymore! Need any more $'s for the project? BTW, I think you guys are nuts. - Feersty - 05-04-2005 Thanks for looking into this Pete. We love our alumni. - Rex4life - 05-04-2005 if transportation is still needed i have access to a trailor. give me some dimensions and i will tell you if it will work out. i know my car can fit on the trailor...... - Mike - 05-04-2005 if you guys don't go through with this... pete, can you find out if one of the ones with a title runs at least decently? i could use a 2nd car. - .RJ - 05-04-2005 Mike Wrote:i could use a 2nd car. s2k!
- DierwulfBL - 05-05-2005 I'm moving into a place on old high street and my lease starts June 1st and it looks to me that it has a garage. I can run it by my 2 other room mates to see if it'd be alright to keep a car there. I haven't looked around the place too much so im not sure how much space is in the garage (for excess parts etc) but if they OK it the car has got to be rolling. Also i wouldn't mind wrenching on it in my spare time so if i got it running I'd offer up some money to buy it from the club(one with a title). Also to anyone who lives in ashby, we could have a rolling chassis stay in the regular parking lot for $1 a week (visitor pass), just an idea i dunno how ashby would feel or if they'd even notice. - WRXtranceformed - 05-05-2005 You could probably park one or two in the visitor gravel lot of hunter's ridge. I've never seen anyone towed there for any reason heh. - PDenbigh - 05-05-2005 Looks like we have some ideas for the cars. Let me know what you guys find out regarding storage at Steve's. BTW Channing, yeah, we're getting old... - PDenbigh - 05-05-2005 So, Appearntly word spreads quickly around the XR world! I haven't mentioned this project to the XR world yet - I have recieved three emails this mroning (as of 8:51am) of people suggesting places to find engines, modified harnesses, and a guy offing to give me some modified mounts specifically for the XR V-8 swap. Neat huh? No pressure either way, but lets get a decision! - Ginger - 05-05-2005 It's almost 9 (8:58am). I should be writing a paper, but the drama here is way more bettAr! - Sijray21 - 05-05-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:So, that is AWESOME, i love the outpouring of help that is associated with a project like this. I hope this get's underway soon. - Dragon - 05-05-2005 Mike Wrote:if you guys don't go through with this... pete, can you find out if one of the ones with a title runs at least decently? i could use a 2nd car.Damnit I was about to say the same thing. We all know Matt could use a car to actually put on track. - PDenbigh - 05-05-2005 I have a friend that's considered one of the "Gods" in the XR world. This guy is a mechanical engineer, owns a machine shop, and is obsessed with XR's. What a great combo huh? Anyhow, he and I have been discussing this idea of a V8 XR today, and I wanted to share with the groups: Quote:Hi Peter, Honestly, I'm doing my best to stay neutral on the decision. As I find inspring thoughts though I am sharing them. And FYI, I know each name mentioned in this email personally, have their phone numbers, and have done business with them in the past. Which should help...? I'm waiting to hear if we get an extension on the pickup date, I will update this thread accordingly. Peter - PDenbigh - 05-05-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Crank it up to 11!! woot! That pictures is what a stock bottom end looks like after 23psi, not enough fuel, and an open downpipe (no exhaust). Darn boost controllers. - PDenbigh - 05-05-2005 I just spoke with the guy via phone regarding the extension. He feels sure he can get it, and he will call me back this evening with confirmation. FYI! - CaptainHenreh - 05-05-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:Crank it up to 11!! woot! "Crank it up to 23!!!11 whoooo!!" doesn't have the same appeal, for some reason. Also, Chris has given the green light, we've got OG and Alum support, I think we should go forward. We're working hard at storage, but I think that we at least have worst-case scenarios for storage of every car. If you pledged money, please either give me a call so someone (probably me, Mr 40mpg) can get it or send it to the MM paypal account, please. - Chris - 05-05-2005 :!: - Dragon - 05-05-2005 Chris Wrote::!::?: - Chris - 05-05-2005 Ok guys, we're going for it!!! We've talked a lot and we really feel this is an opportunity we can't pass up. There are still many details to work out, especially storage. Any and all help in this manner would be greatly appreciated. We have a couple leads on storage and should hear back soon. Just wanted to give the official announcement! GRM $2006 here we come! - CaptainHenreh - 05-05-2005 To reduce confusion http://www.mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2301 |
