Re: 2005 Nissan Xterra - RawrImAMonster - 04-20-2016

He just said they're rusty from setting for the last 6 months. I'd bet they aren't that bad, but I'll get pictures of those as well.

Other option is to go check it out and cruise around long enough to find out if it runs/drives fine, then get it shipped. Shipping quotes I'm seeing online are only like $400 bucks. If I can negotiate that off the price, it's still a good deal.

He's the original owner and according to him it has never been in an accident so the main thing is making sure it isn't rusted to shit.

why's it sitting? is he military/out of town all the time?

What do you subaru people think of this one? He'll take 7300 for it, maybe a bit lower if I push. KBB is between 7000 for good and 7600 for very good. He says it's not rusty underneath and no paint fading. Overall seems to be fairly clean and completely unmolested.

Recent maintenance includes:

Timing belt/water pump/pulleys
Radiator
Power steering pump

Also here's a bunch more pictures:

hey looks familiar 8)

seems pretty nice honestly. rad/pump means it got a coolant flush too which is good. the paint looks nice for going on 11 years old.

Raleigh barely gets any snow so it should be a very clean car rust wise. He said he'll take 7100 so I'm probably going to go for it. Worst case scenario, I can sell it for more than that up here.

true about snow but bear in mind that much of that part of NC is made up of northern transplants that move down there for work. it could have come from the salt belt in recent years. just give it a look underneath and you'll know immediately if its a "native" southern car.

He said the carfax looks like it has been around Raleigh it's entire life, so it should be good. I'm going to check out the carfax before I head down. Just waiting on his bank to get the title in. They don't store them on location for some reason.

Finally got around to cleaning up the xterra, switching the nav headunit over to my subaru and putting it for sale last week. As of this evening, I am no longer plagued by this pos nissan.

One last picture to celebrate it leaving
