Now is the time to buy AMZN if you haven't gotten on the train yet

Making moves. I never really considered individual funds in my IRA as I go with a Target Date funds, but the drop in AMZN was enough for me to pull out some $$$ and drop it in there.

Yesterday was the day!  Hopefully you punched your ticket  Cool

RE: Stock Market Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 10-12-2018

F'n missed it. Took Vanguard a whole day to sell and release funds from other investments. So now I'm like WELLLLLL SHIIIIIIII guess that'll just go right back into the vanguard index funds I had.

RE: Stock Market Thread - WRXtranceformed - 10-12-2018

Nah you're fine, I mean it's most likely gonna pop past 2k and beyond again so now is still a good time to get on IMO

RE: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 10-23-2018

So how bout dem trade wars, eh?

RE: Stock Market Thread - WRXtranceformed - 10-23-2018

Dow seems to be making a late rally, only down 100 points now on the day

RE: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 10-23-2018

AMZN earning this week. We're all wondering if that'll push things back up towards $2000 since much of the company has November vests.

I guess I'll hold for one more day but if they open friday below SMA200 I have to pull out. Everything else I'm in just went WAAY below theirs today if they weren't already. There go all my gains for this year!

RE: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 10-25-2018

We can only hope.

RE: Stock Market Thread - BLINGMW - 10-25-2018

OK even F went up 10% today, stand down

RE: Stock Market Thread - BLINGMW - 10-29-2018

Thanks a lot! Well I missed all my chances to sell, great.

RE: Stock Market Thread - WRXtranceformed - 11-20-2018

Bye bye gains for the year

RE: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 12-04-2018

Blush

Creating additional investor concern on Tuesday was an inverted yield curve in Treasury bonds — where the three-year yield has moved above the five-year yield — a phenomenon that preceded all three of the last recessions.

It's buy time if you want more exposure in the markets. AMZN is a huge bargain today.

I'm plenty good in the market so I'm gonna try to stay cash heavy in the early part of 2019

Thats whats odd about this market right now. There is nothing wrong with the fundamentals. Not quite as good as they were a year ago, but still nothing to warrant this kind of sustained sell-off.

Either the market is either about to rebound back up, or there is some scary shit about to hit that the general public isnt really aware of. Red or black, place your bet and spin the wheel.
Oh and Mnuchin's talk today was downright bizarre.

Agreed on all counts.  Ben believes the wild, large swings are due to the robotrading we know and love.  We're talking about hundreds of billions of sell offs moving all at once, which is unheard of and not normal for your standard "market jitters" when everything else is pointing to "fine".  If that proves to be true, who knows maybe there would be some kind of regulation on AI trading in the future?

RE: Stock Market Thread - Apoc - 12-24-2018

Political uncertainty is driving it, IMO.

This along with the ongoing tariff battle is what I'm hearing from my hedge fund analyst friends. They aren't convinced a recession is coming just yet.

RE: Stock Market Thread - WRXtranceformed - 12-24-2018

Those are the reasons for the market uncertainty which are well known but not necessarily for the actual massive daily swings up and down that are resulting. Those are not normal even during times of instability.
