Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 05-01-2014 I can confirm the bass problem. I have to turn it almost off at night in our apartment. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Mike - 05-04-2014 It has a night mode in the settings. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 06-30-2014 Anyone have any recommendations for a hands free bluetooth kit? My fiance's civic doesn't have bluetooth and with MD's new hands free law she needs something. Speaker phone on the iPhone won't cut it anymore. I was looking at this http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTC450-Blu ... Descending but I'm a little skeptical. It has great review which I like, but I'm unsure exactly how it will work. It provides audio through the aux input (2 in the car) so will the radio need to be on AUX all of the time to receive a call? Assuming she is playing music via bluetooth that won't be a problem. If she is listening to the radio it seems she will need to toggle to AUX (only 1 button) and then answer the call. It's not the end of the world if she has to do that if she gains hands free calling and bluetooth music streaming. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Ken - 06-30-2014 Not really sure how else you'd get Bluetooth without it going through the AUX unless you get one of those clunky standalone things people put on their visors. Even then, you'd still have to mute the music. Looks pretty solid for what you need it for. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Evan - 06-30-2014 The phone itself should still ring, so you get the call, hit aux, and then answer it. Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - HAULN-SS - 06-30-2014 THANKS MARYLAND Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 06-30-2014 Well I bought it. I'll throw it in her car and let you guys know how it works out. Regarding Maryland, this is one thing I can get on board with. Too many idiots on their phones these days. Stick em with $300+ fines and points until they learn. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - BLINGMW - 09-09-2014 so who's going to buy an Apple Watch? :dunno: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/10/techn ... .html?_r=0 Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-09-2014 As has been said on fb all day. I love how apple launches stuff months to a year after android developers and yet it's innovative when apple does it. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - BLINGMW - 09-10-2014 Apple's done innovating, that died with Steve. And the watch isn't even "done", sounds like another 6mo. IMHO it's a nice iPhone accessory, and I'd consider one if I had an iPhone, but is the general public willing to carry around (and charge) another gadget every day? I doubt it. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-10-2014 My favorite was a suggested post i saw on Facebook by master card about how excited they are about applepay. I mean were they excited about Android nfc they seemed to get ignored with support. Of course, maybe now retailers will start using nfc pay pads. What the hell am I supposed to do with that coin that's showing up :dunno: Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - .RJ - 09-10-2014 BLINGMW Wrote:but is the general public willing to carry around (and charge) another gadget every day? Sully Wrote:My favorite was a suggested post i saw on Facebook by master card about how excited they are about applepay. Because apple thought it all the way through, got all their partners in line, built the ecosystem and made sure everything works before announcing it.... google/android never do this. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - BLINGMW - 09-10-2014 .RJ Wrote:Probably said the same thing about the first iPhone, blackberry, etc too.haha, I said the same to Jess last night. I'm sure 10 years ago we were saying that. I just don't think THIS device is going to be a game changer. Necklace with mood/thought translation and modification, bluetooth brain implant, or LED display contacts? Now you're talking. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Jake - 09-10-2014 .RJ Wrote:got all their partners in line I'd like to know why Discover isn't on the list of supported credit cards... makes the entire thing useless for me. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - HAULN-SS - 09-10-2014 I know right! Leaving out all those people an dthe ones that use Diners Club too! Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - G.Irish - 09-10-2014 I don't think Apple showed any compelling use cases for the watch, and battery life was conspicuously missing from the key note. It's true that people charge their smartphones pretty much every day but that would be serious pain for a watch. I just don't think they showed any real reason that someone who already has an iPhone should also buy the Apple Watch. So they don't have to reach in their pocket and pull out their phone? Please. I think the iPhone 6 and 6+ will sell really well, even if they are 4 years late to the large screen party. The on-contract prices for the 6+ are silly but in a way I think it's a benefit for status-symbol iPhone buyers. They'll get to say that Android phones are "cheap" again now that the top model iPhone costs $500 on contract. So they don't have to reach in their pocket and pull out their phone? Please. I'm actually looking forward to a day I can do that. If I can use my watch to check messages, see how long until my bus arrives, and pay for everything with a tap, I'm in. I used to be one of the people that railed against watches in general, but I definitely see the benefit of a smart watch as someone who commutes (often in the rain, or using both hands while I stand on the bus) and spends all day in meetings (where's my next meeting? who texted me?). It also has the potential to extend the phone's battery life because you aren't constantly flipping the screen on to see what time it is or who texted you. As some of you may have seen, I recently took to wearing a watch because of the ease of checking the time/date and... yes... as a fashion choice. I'm also kinda prepping myself for the SMART WATCH REVOLUTION!! Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - davej - 09-10-2014 my 15 year old seiko has a kinetic charging system that keeps it running just from the movement of walking around, i don't know if they could generate enough power for a smart watch to run on, unless your a 15 year old kid that just got his hands on some leaked icloud photos. If they started putting a wireless charging pad inside of ipads/macs, you could charge by proximity to your other devices. it'd also be cool to see them build in some solar tech into the face or bands.
