But only if it's under $20,000 with less than 15,000 miles and the insurance needs to be less than $50 a month with at least 5,000,000/5,000,000/10,000,000 coverage.

Mustang GT350R at Goodwood

https://youtu.be/jp9d-HhblD0

I've never been a muscle car guy, but this is kinda making me want to switch teams. Although I guess for the price of a GT350 I could get a 360 to get my flat-crank V8 rocks off.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Beej - 06-26-2015

I mean I don't know much about flat plane cranks other than what they are conceptually and that Ferrari uses them, but...I thought it'd sound more like a Ferrari?

It's going to be 90K+?

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 06-26-2015

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 06-26-2015

I'd rather have a car under warranty with far cheaper maintenance. That 30k would be made up pretty quick. Then again... Ferrari.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - *insertusernamehere* - 06-27-2015

I'd take the mustang over the ferrari. I want that car, omg, America is stealing my car heart. Bye Germany

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 06-28-2015

German cars are the prom queen who you marry, then 10 years down the road she lost her figure and is now just a complete bitch that occasionally spills her fluids on your garage floor. She only drinks the finest wines, and the most expensive clothes. All of your non woman-enthusiast friends are really impressed when they see her and you talk about her fancy German shoes and how her purse can fit 3 sets of golf clubs, but all of your enthusiast friends know that she's a maintenance nightmare and you need a special tool from the dealership to even get her bra off. She's fun, but you sometimes think about having someone easier to live with.

American cars are the girl no one danced with at Prom, but you marry her after the Prom Queen turns into a train wreck. This girl is a nice lady and still looks the same as she did back in high school. You kind of like that. You realize she never really looked that bad and you're happy with your choice. Sure, she's not the smartest, or prettiest, and sometimes your phone doesn't sync properly with her, but you still love her. She drinks cheap and her clothes are easy to find and take on and off. Some times she'll get dirty, but it doesn't matter. Your non-enthusiast friends don't bat an eye at her, but your friends that know their shit know what a solid and dependable woman she is that's cheap to maintain. They also know how fun she is when you can really let her be wild. You'll think about the German Prom Queen when you're making that sweet love, but that's okay, because at the end of the day your still driving the average looking girl and you're happy.

Or something.

Base is $47K for the GT350..the R starts at $61..and you don't have to take out a second mortgage to keep up with either cars' regular maintenance schedule.

F car maintenance really isn't outrageous, starting with the 360. More expensive than GT350 maintenance for sure but if you've got the money for a $60k car, 360 maintenance is not going to break the bank.

What? Since when does 60K = Eff you money for maintenance?

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 06-28-2015

Not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if you can pay for a $60k car comfortably, $1000 or so a year in maintenance is not leaving u broke. Not the same deal with a 355 for example.

Some years will cost more depending on what maintenance is due but the costs simply aren't ruinous anymore.

Mid-engine turbo 3-cyl S1000 possible for 2016

This is the S660 (with 63 HP!)- sounds like S1000 may have some significant exterior changes. Really hard to find a view of it that isn't ugly, though MR2 spyder is kind of the same way. Lighter and potentially cheaper than MX5, could be cool.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 07-13-2015

the S1000 won't have a chance in hell if they can't offer any reasonable storage space in it....that's a big part of what killed MR-S sales compared to the miata which was infinitely more practical. same thing played a big part in why the S2000 was always more reasonable to own than the solstice/sky too.

It's coming. It may not be called the S2000, or be a roadster but it'll fill roughly the same part of the market. And it'll be mid-engined (engine behind driver not front midship).
