Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 03-06-2012 Apoc Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:Speaking of gun laws, part of Maryland's gun law was struck down in court: i would provide them a copy of the constitution. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 03-06-2012 Yeah, it's a bit like the "purpose" thread for NFA items. I put "firearms collection" but what I meant was "To defend against tyranny". Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 03-06-2012 I think its the second one you know... amendment. That one looks like a good reason. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 03-06-2012 CaptainHenreh Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:I don't think Mitt Romney is secretly anti-gun. I think he's anti-taking-a-position-on-something-important. Which means if elected he probably wouldn't change the law in either direction. Just because a republican is in charge doesnt change the fact that its mass-a-fuckingchussetts. its still a representative government and its pretty damn amazing that he convinced those whiny northeast liberal shits to elect a republican at all. that doesnt mean that he is going to govern the country exactly like mass Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 03-06-2012 Evan Wrote:Just because a republican is in charge doesnt change the fact that its mass-a-fuckingchussetts. This is true, of course, but he said, and I quote: Mitt Romney, 2004 Wrote:"Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts," Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. "These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people." Sorry, I don't care if it is Mass-a-fuckingchussetts. The man has no respect for the second amendment, no common sense to see that something like the COSMETIC ONLY assault weapons ban is utterly useless. It's like banning pep boys because people put wings and fart cans on their cars. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 03-06-2012 Shit Rex, its called politics. If you think the moment a Republican gets elected in the most liberal state in the union he can turn around and make it Texas, you're being way too naive. If thats what the people of Massachusetts want, I dont have an enormous problem with the fact that a republican governor traded some horses and signed the bill. And its downright asinine to think thats a law that he is going to push if he got elected potus. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 03-06-2012 Evan Wrote:Shit Rex, its called politics. Look all I have to go by is his record, ok? And he didn't quietly sign this bill, the first of it's kind in the country. He didn't try to brush it under the table, he crowed about it. Gun rights in Mass have actually gotten BETTER since he left. Sorry bro, you're just wrong. I don't know why you're defending him. For gun rights, he sucks, the end. Been looking for a larger 9mm than my pf9 to keep in the nightstand and carry from time to time. I tried out the Glock and the M&P. I just couldn't get the M&P to feel comfortable in my hand. I tried all three backstraps and it just never felt as good as the glock. The difference was only $10 so it was a no brainer. Looking forward to getting it out to the farm and putting some rounds through it. Also going to be looking for a light/laser to mount on the bottom that does not reach out past the barrel.
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 03-14-2012 Yeah, if a glock feels good to you, then you should buy a glock. Gen3 was the right choice, for sure. I have but two issues with glocks: #1: They are ugly as home made sin. #2: They feel like I am holding a 2X4. For me, not ergonomic at all. Other than that, no complaints. Good pickup. Still, couldn't you have gotten one under the "blue" program? I bet you could have. Night sights and 3 mags for the win. Also, don't buy the korean mags. They suck ass. Buy proper glock mags, and you'll never have an issue. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 03-14-2012 I like how they look, but I agree on feel. Ew. I did receive a law enforcement discount through the store but they don't participate in the glock blue label program. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 03-14-2012 Still a big fan of the Viridian laser/light combo. I seem to remember they make a version for Glocks. It looks like a green light saber at the range. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 03-20-2012 Picked up a leather glaco iwb holster for the glock. It took some time and working it to get it broken in but now that it is it fits the gun like a glove and is actually more comfortable to wear than my crossbreed supertuck. One problem I've had before with single clip iwb holsters is that they sometimes let the top of the gun fall away from the body, usually because the clip isn't strong enough or the leather is too thin. This one holds the entire gun very tight to the body and is very easy to draw from. Reholstering takes some practice but it's not too bad.
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 04-10-2012 Rex's suggestion in my project thread made me want to consider the semi-auto SX3 more heavily...especially after swooning over the YT videos of that thing over the past 4-5 months. What is a good place to purchase such a weapon online? How does that process work with background checks, etc.? Local stores here are good but pricey...I am all about bargain shopping! Just Google the gun. Good places to start... Buds Gun Shop (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php) CDNN (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/) Gunbroker.com Cheaperthandirt.com 1- Go to/call your local gun shop/FFL dealer, ask what their transfer rate is. Typically $30-$50. 2- Once you choose your vendor, notify the FFL dealer that you are purchasing a gun from XYZ and having it shipped to them, and have your online dealer ship to that FFL dealer. 3- Pay local FFL dealer transfer fee 4- Go bang bang As far as a background check, the place you purchase from just does the quick NICS background check, IE run your name through the FBI database. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 04-10-2012 you need to make sure that your online company has your local FFL information in their database as well. if not, your local FFL will have to fax over the information. If only there was a thread for this sort of information.... oh wait, we're in it! I got mine at http://www.dawsonent.com/ Their prices were by far the best of about a dozen sites I looked at. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 04-10-2012 Nice, thanks for the suggestions!
