47mpg!? This may make my next vehicle purchase a bit easier. Although a drop of 20 horses and torques might be a bit too much for this already heavy and not exactly zippy car.

Not quite sure why we build what reads like diesel engine specs, but hobble it by running on gas. Delete TB, add a big fuel filter, run it on diesel and now it's getting at least 55MPG. Oh. They already have that on the 2014 A4 TDI. Same with that dumb 4 cyl BMW 328, it sounds like a damn diesel anyway, has direct injection, turbo, why screw around? :dunno:
ALSO, if it's a turbo gas engine and not making at least 100 HP/L, it is wrong. Fail.

because diesels suck to drive, they smell like shit, the fuel is more $ than premium and fueling stations are harder to find.
so they are taking the benefits of diesel and applying it to gas with none of the drawbacks. sounds win/win to me.
