I second the fuck Fedex. Second year in a row they have been unable to deliver flowers on time for Valentine's day. Yesterday they wrote, "business closed" as my wife sat at her office which was very much open. Also, they are the only delivery service that just leaves shit outside of my apartment building. They are added to my list of companies i will celebrate when/if they fail. First is still Sears though. Fuck Sears. RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Beej - 02-15-2018 Haven't a clue if things have changed since my days working at a PackNShip type place in college (so like 15 years ago (shit)), but...Fedex Express and Fedex Ground were (are?) essentially two different entities. Express was always professional and timely and good. Ground, well, any old Joe could "buy" a route, basically use whatever box truck they want, and didn't seem to be held to the same standards as the Fedex Express and UPS guys. Not sure if it's still the same way. If anyone is not using Bouqs at this point you need to. No bullshit fees or add-ons like chocolates, balloons, teddy bears. Their flowers are really nice and always on time. Email confirmation when they are out for delivery and confirmation when they are delivered. They used FedEx on my delivery yesterday and all was well. I don't really blame them here, i blame Fedex. RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 02-15-2018 I have never heard of Bouqs before. I am so old. Same same... ordered some flowers a couple days ago for delivery yesterday through 1800 flowers, all was good and then right at checkout, $15 service charge. Flowers were great and on time so there's that. Bouqs doesn't do that shit, or charge $85 (exaggeration, but not far off) delivery on holidays. Not to mention the prices themselves for the flowers are decent. I've ordered from them for last two years or so about 10 times, this is the only issue and, really, it was Fedex's fault. I saw Ole Bobby BudgetTruck again today when I went outside to check on the painter. He was getting screamed at by one of my neighbors for driving too fast in our cul de sac Same truck, same dude RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 02-15-2018 What's the deal with watch people wanting a "birth year" watch? Just cool to have something as old as you? RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - BLINGMW - 02-15-2018 FWIW I get shipments for my business every day, most comes FedEx express, some ground, some UPS, some DHL. They all handled my address change horribly, they all deliver laughably damaged things constantly, deliver half a shipment while the rest shows up two days later, and making a promise to a customer based on the date that a tracking number says it'll be here is a surefire way to make it not show up. The only saving grace is individual drivers that give a shit, and fortunately I have some that do, because the networks that support them are a chaotic mess. I would love to see a shipping company come around based on not damaging things and doing just a little more to get packages to their proper destinations (such as picking up the phone instead of saying "business closed"). They could push a "green" message with electric trucks and by being just a little more gentle, reduce the need for so much Styrofoam and bubblewrap. Anyone got a billion dollars sitting around to help me get it started? Especially ones on any kind of commission or bonus style work. Like bitch, work, don't you want money???? Sent from my FRD-L04 using Tapatalk RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 02-16-2018 Shitty dealerships. Because of the franchise laws that were lobbied into place, dealerships can continue to pursue shitty practices because nothing will put them out of business. I got the airbag recall done on my 135 today, it was free so why not. Naturally the BMW dealer tried to sell me a bunch of work, including a valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, and that my driver rear shock mount is broken. So I popped the hood, and there's some seeping from the OIL FILL CAP. Not sure if sloppy oil change or the gasket on the fill cap got pinched and leaks. But, as, oil leaks certainly do not go against gravity, pretty shitty diagnosis. Cant find any evidence of leak anywhere on the filter housing. Also, recommended replacing the shock because the mount was broken - sorry, what? And the service writer kept calling the mount "the bracket". Your bracket is broken. Someone please educate service writers on proper automotive terms and that they shouldnt expect their customers are idiots but I guess this was a BMW shop. I havent had a chance to peek at the mount to see if I can confirm, either way, those 3 items tallied up to a $4000 repair estimate. Hey, GFY. A quick perusal on e90 post shows a lot of similar experiences there. RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - RawrImAMonster - 02-16-2018 I'm taking my M3 in for the airbag recall next week. We'll see what they say about what needs to be fixed on mine.
RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Jake - 02-16-2018 My Range Rover goes in on Tuesday for a new passenger dash airbag. Can't wait to see what LR Alexandria tries to stick me with. RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Beej - 02-16-2018 Brought the M3 in twice for airbags and the M5 once. Only thing they tried to upsell me to was an entirely new car. RE: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 02-16-2018 Poked around at the car this evening. "valve cover" leak definitely coming from oil filler, you can see all the oily shmutz under the cap outside of the seal. oil filter housing, yeah, its dirty, but so's the whole damn engine bay, i guess by that logic my intake manifold is leaking oil too. shock mount, I cant even figure out wtf they're on about they look fine to me. cant wait for THIS dealer survey to come in. |
