Agreed.

Re: Project Hatch - xvxax - 10-17-2011

The lot at Verona is actually really, really grippy once the gravel gets pushed off the line. However they paved it left the pavement super, super abrasive.

That said, might be time to step up your rear bar/spring. The guys I know who run ST and SMF use a MONSTER rear bar. Like 30-35mm solid or something huge. Kaan is probably more helpful because I'm not a FWD master, but yeah. Maybe increase rear spring and bar, or drill a closer hole, and stagger your pressures. 26 seems pretty low for street tires, but that might be about right cold. Might be smarter to start around 30-34 cold and bleed off to keep it there.

Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 10-17-2011

You dont want a bar that big with those shocks/springs.

Re: Project Hatch - xvxax - 10-18-2011

Why is that? How much spring are you running Justin? I think it's the ASR 32mm bar people run, is that hollow?

Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 10-18-2011

will be too much spring rate for the shocks, and you'll rip the subframe out.

.RJ Wrote:....and you'll rip the subframe out.

With the ASR subframe brace installed you still think tearing the subframe will be an issue?

I need more shock before I can up my springs. Currently 550 R, 500 F, borderline for the stock yellows. Need to be revalved. And yea the 32mm bar is basically a straight hollow pipe

no, but the shocks not handling it is enough of a reason.

Re: Project Hatch - Kaan - 10-18-2011

throttle steer and up the rear tire pressures Wink

That makes more sense.

I did run a lower tire pressure then the last event, so I will be upping the pressure in the rear and the the shocks the next event.

it might be cool to rebound to the moon, though.

No real update, just found a crazy deal on rear brake rotors that were on closeout at Rockauto. Centric brand rotors, apparently the parent company of Stop-Tech and PowerSlot, $6.44 a rotor, ordered 3 sets. I now have rear rotors til the world ends.

:evileye: Now I see why people track Honduh's.

yes you do. i'll be surprised if you ever have to replace those rears from wear. i had to replace one due to negligence (let it sit too long, caliper seized and left a nasty deposit, but that was my fault. i've never seen a mm of wear out of them.

Re: Project Hatch - Jeff - 11-09-2011

I wouldn't think you would hardly ever need rear rotors even on a track car. Sheesh I have seen street cars with 150K that have never even had them off.

Cars that are properly designed need em  I see good wear on my rear rotors. All about brake balance and weight distribution during braking.

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 11-09-2011

So one pair is going on now to replace the rusty rotors, then one set will be dedicated track rotors. Leaving one set as spare.

Re: Project Hatch - Jeff - 11-09-2011

I suppose it has quite a bit to do with the material the pads are made of as well. An aggressive pad will obviously take a greater toll on the rotor material. Like with these 09+ minivans. They eat front rotors (less then 30k sometimes) because the OEM pads are made of unobtainium or kryptonite or some shit.

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 11-21-2011

Had to hardwire the radiator fan, but it is keeping the car cool. Factory wiring stopped turning the fan on for some reason? May fab up some radiator ducting to entertain myself during the winter. Why not?

Some pictures from this weekends autoX....
