^That kit looks crazy. Do you have to hook it up to the stock blower, or has anyone done it with a KB or whipple?

It retains the stock Eaton. At 1100hp they're having trouble with the heads lifting off the deck of the block, there's no reason to run a twin screw.

Maybe I'm just a little slow today, but that seems a little stupid to me. I just can't imagine that the SC is really helping that system out that much.
I mean, yeah, you're still pressurizing air (which is already pressurized) and maybe the SC is helping out on the low-end a little bit, but I just feel like it's silly...

All I know is that the cars that are running just the turbos are making 600-800+hp. Cars running both turbos and a supercharger are making 1000+ hp, and yes the blower is responsible for the low end grunt that would have been lost in a turbo only application. What makes these cars so popular is the torque from idle all the way up to redline. With a turbo only car you loose that off-idle/low rpm power that's desirable when just cruising around town. Taking a look at the dyno sheets, the blower is not hindering airflow into the engine.

1100+whp on the stock block they claim in that article? GTFO! For what, a whole glorious 3 seconds on the dyno?
I think twin-charging is a cool concept but it's unnecessary. People have done it on STi's just to say they've done it. With a V8 and two turbos, there's no reason why you should lack torque anywhere in the powerband, down low or up high.

It's all relative to what you're playing with. V8 guys are greedy, power hungry people.

Got to go check out a tesla today.
I had originaly thought it was the guy right next door to me that bought it, but instead it was another guy in the neighborhood. Really nice looking car in person, the whole setup with the chrager was pretty simple and interesting...

Yeah, a heavy-ass elise. My question tho is, a regular elise has a econbox engine on a chassis thats about one ton, shouldnt it get like a bajillion miles per gallon anyway? Thats what were awesome about civic hatches, no power, but they were light so they werent...well...horrendous as a geo. Its cool that it takes no gas at all, and I realize this is just a ploy to the rich, but why couldnt they make the elise a hybrid for the same weight uppage and get like 100mpg.

The Tesla Roadster is quite a bit faster in a straight line than an Elise. The added weight throws off its handling, but it's still got a Lotus suspension. I think it's a pretty remarkable car for the price and for what it is.
