Yeah I read that on their page. I think they are good. Supposedly they are aggressive at idle but mellow out at cruise.

Also, I got these wheels. They came off a used car so they would be "free." I would need to get spacers though, they sit in a bit on the back and don't clear the front hubs. So I would probably have a few hundred dollars in them with quality spacers. Tires are almost new. I think its a bit to obvious what they came off of. Thoughts?

I think they are like...18X10s.

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - ScottyB - 09-14-2010

i've always liked my muscle cars with a deep offset wheel. that's a little too flat-faced for my tastes

I think I am going to have to agree...anyone need some 18in Cobra replica wheels with new tires? $500?

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - fiveoh2go - 09-14-2010

Those are actually Saleen replicas.

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - Jeff - 09-14-2010

Check your PM's Matt.

Anyways. Looks good. Hood and fenders should be cut in by friday and my body man is going to start sanding and buffing as well. Paint job looks pretty good in the pics but it has some spots of dirt. It has 3 coats of clear so he can sand a whole layer off if he needs to. We were going to delete the antenna but we decided to use a power antenna instead. I'm going to put it on a manual switch so it can be left down most of the time.

smart choice...

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - Gs dewd - 09-15-2010

Yes I have to agree. It needs deep dish wheels in the rear. Something in the 8'' to 10'' wide range. Also whats the final paint scheme going to be? Is there going to be any white or black added to the Plum Crazy?

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - Jeff - 09-16-2010

We were debating flat black for the hood but it is a flat standard hood so we decided not to. There will be lots of stainless/chrome on the car so I think we will wait and see before we decide on any striping. I am thinking the white 1970 style stripe is my favorite.

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - HAULN-SS - 09-17-2010

you can't really go wrong with purple and white. If I ever get around to finishing that 71 MC i have, white with a purple stripe is on the table

I think I might be the only person who likes those wheels on the car.... they definitely need larger tires and the car would need to be lowered though.

I agree the white just looks killer on the purple ones. If you where going for the T/A look then the flat black.

Re: MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger Coupe - Jeff - 09-18-2010

We thought about a T/A hood for the car (the one pictured is a Hemi "Shaker" hood) but we decided against it. It will probably get a standard R/T hood sometime in the future. We price a new one at around $650 with all the accessories to make it look right (scoop inserts, hood pins, etc) but with the bumpers still needing chrome and a back seat cover not yet ordered we decided that money could be better used elsewhere at the moment.
