The new 'stang is majorly badass but god it needs more low. If I bought one I'd roll right from the dealership to my garage and drop it two inches before I drove it again. I'd order the mods before I got the car.

Perfect! Now i have one to park and another to crash into it with! lol i'm just kidding, it really is a steal at that price. Just not much of a Mustang guy myself unless it's a Shelby or something else noteworthy.

Soooo skidpad and braking distance indicate how a car can hang with one another on track? I guess I should give up on my e36 M3 cause it did poorly in both, yet was awarded the "best handling car at any price" in the day.
I do love the new mustang and think it looks great, while I think the new M3 looks like garbage. But as ive woken my eyes to with my e36 m3, it has poor stats, but good god does it do voodoo magic or something it crushes at the track and autocross. Point is, stats dont tell the whole story, but if I wanted to be scarily honest, I would buy the 2011 Mustang 5.0 over a 2011 M3 if it was my money. M3 is too ugly to be that expensive, its only sexy dropped, wheels, and in white coupe form.

2011 Shelby GT500 at Virginia International Raceway Grand West Course
Coming from a drag oriented background, a second quicker ET in the quarter is a huge improvement. On VIR's Grand West Course how much of an improvement is it to run a lap time that is nine seconds quicker when compared to last years model?

Its huge, but if you're not controlling the variables its not a great comparison. Tires on a course that big can be worth 3-4 seconds alone, track conditions easily 1-3 seconds, and of course the driver is the biggest variable. The car certainly looked fast but the driver isnt too smooth (lts of pitch and catch, early apexing) and is leaving a lot of time on the table. I wouldnt read too much into it other than the car really hauls the mail down the straights

The new mustangs have been classed.... I am shocked, for all this bench racing, the SCCA deems the mustang MUCH slower than any M3. I dont see how an E36 M3 in C-Stock while the new v6 and GT mustang is in F stock. Thats quite a number of classes down. Hell the Gt500 is in bstock...same as an E46 M3, but lower than an E92.
So much for the GT hanging with an M3, not even close, according to SCCA, the new GT cant even hang with a 90s (or even 80s) M3.

autox != race track. sure, a 4000lb (i'm exagerrating) beast that has a giant motor isn't going to handle with something as well balanced as what bmw put out in the 90s
