I wonder if I could get away with a mullet in my office? Business up front, party in the back! - Dave - 06-29-2007 Tundra is definitely ruled out. Not paying that much for something that is going to be straining to do the job. Nothing that has actually been considered has left this decade. '00 is my cut-off (so I can keep the 7.3 as a possibility), so let's leave it at that. RJ's truck is nice enough for what I want in terms of amenities, I just need more towing capacity and more power. I don't want a POS if I'm going to have to drive it regularly (2+ times a week). I think a pair of smokestacks right behind the cab would be freaking cool, but it would kill up some space in the bed and might be a bit too redneck for my taste. On the plus side, it'd spool faster  - WRXtranceformed - 06-29-2007 Whatever diesel you get, you need to propane inject that bitch!
- stevegula - 06-29-2007 if Navistar has such a diesel engine problem, how come Nissan signed with them? - Dave - 06-29-2007 so-so diesel > no diesel? - Ginger - 06-29-2007 Would you rather listen to a company that just conracted out a motor... or the people that use it? - stevegula - 06-29-2007 asteele2 Wrote:Would you rather listen to a company that just conracted out a motor... or the people that use it? My question is valid. Is Navistar giving them a different engine design that isn't supposed to suck, does Navistar fault Ford for their engine problems for whatever reason, is Navistar claiming "wev'e finally figured it out!" in terms of not sucking? I'm just curious to know why Nissan picked them up for their diesel supply even though they've got a pretty known image of making buggy engines. *edit* I guess the other possibility is also that Nissan is Jap so everyone in America immediately goes "OMG RELIABLE AND FUEL EFFICIENT" no matter what. Public image does a lot for a company, especially since no one outside of the truck world will know (or even give a flyin f) that Nissan doesn't build their diesel engine but receives it in a crate. - .RJ - 06-29-2007 Two words: Lowest Bidder - white_2kgt - 06-29-2007 .RJ Wrote:Two words: Lowest Bidder Bingo. - Ginger - 06-29-2007 I just figured you were being difficulut for fun.... of course, I stand next to my statement - the engine could very well still suck and we'll hear about it shortly from unhappy nissan customers. - white_2kgt - 07-14-2007 Found your truck dave, ![]() 2001 F350 Lariat FX4 Asking 21,500 OBO Let me know if you want his contact info. - white_2kgt - 07-17-2007 Ok, maybe that one is to big for you?
