I could have sworn they had hyperdrives listed on the schedule, but it looks like they've removed it. Maybe an accidental leftover. :dunno:

Bring your rain tires boys! :|

- Andy - 03-30-2007

Alright guys. See you there.

- BLINGMW - 04-01-2007

heh, that was fun!

Andy wanted me to show him the tire wall between 3 and 4, so I took him out there to visit. Wasn't a hard hit at all, we were ready for more, but when they dragged us back on track (I was stuck in the mud), the lip of the track put a hole in my oilpan. D'oh! A little JB weld, epoxy, and donated oil, and I'm back home without issue.

Yikes. Looks similar to Andy's hit from February, glad it was fixable/driveable.

What were the conditions out there throughout the weekend?

- BLINGMW - 04-01-2007

Surprisingly awesome. Pretty much overcast the whole time, nice temps, rained just a touch Sunday but nothing that really made the track wet. There were ~28 Spec Miatas and ~25 SpecE30s, so there was some excellent racing to watch too.

- Jeff - 04-01-2007

Twas a good time. Was worth the drive.

- BLINGMW - 04-01-2007

What corner(s) were you working? Sorry I didn't see you until I was on my way out :dunno:

- Dragon - 04-02-2007

Passed Jeff and the MM crew on 29 on the way back. Was a great weekend for me. One major snafoo on grid during the Stinger Race on Sat, but it was remedied with some creative shuffling of cars on track by the pace cars. I snuck out in a group 2 session for a bit on Sat. Got a lil freaked out when I came upon Andy who was driving off-line (later found out it was at the direction of the instructor), but other than that had a great session.

Don't forget ~30 944s. Man... no love for the largest series out there, so what if they're ugly!

- BLINGMW - 04-02-2007

bah, those things are junk :bootyshake:

- Apoc - 04-02-2007

Pretty sure I saw a lot more E30s getting towed in this weekend. Tongue

- PDenbigh - 04-02-2007

Woah chan! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

Instint says feel sorry for you, but then I think of who you are and I just smile, knowing that you just look at it and laugh.

So, glad you had fun ;-).

Yeah... well... maybe. Tongue To tell you the truth, I don't even know what your car looks like! Sorry for the lack of effort. But how was the racing? How'd you do? That 944 field really exploded last year, I had no idea it was that popular.

And yes, Pete, all in good fun.

- Andy - 04-02-2007

Chan's a maniac. It was a really fun off and we would've been okay if those tow monkeys didn't crack Chan's pan. All in all, it was an awesome weekend. Got to drive offline for two whole sessions which was awesome. Got passed up to group 3 and learned to drive with a steering wheel cocked to the 11/11:30 position. I still suck at T3/oaktree but I hitting 101 at the esses and damn close to that at SOuthbend

I suck at VIR Full, plain and simple. I was getting worked at South Bend and the braking zone at the top of the roller coaster. I was 6th on Saturday and 5th on Sunday and I just couldn't keep up with the leaders. There was some good racing throughout but I'd much rather be vying for a podium spot. Everyone who finished ahead of me did the Test & Tune for the last two events so that should tell me something.

My memory it a little hazy but I think it was Rex who asked me how I did both days. After I say "meh" the second time on Sunday he asked "Is there ever going to be a time you don't do 'meh?'" That pretty much sums up my weekend.

Andy, did you fix your shifter?

- Andy - 04-02-2007

.RJ Wrote:Andy, did you fix your shifter?

No. I think it's an internal trans thing so once my LSD comes, we'll bebuild it. I've done without 5th gear for 5 weekends so I don't know what I'm going to do with myself once I get it back. Big Grin

- Jeff - 04-02-2007

I was on 3 the first day and 10 the second.

Were they just being dumb, or was it unavoidable?
