I thought your first suggestion was always "debadge it"

- WRXtranceformed - 09-06-2006

First thing I'm doing is having the dealership remove the tint on the windshield. It actually looks really dope, but it's illegal as hell and I don't want to have any part in that.

- ScottyB - 09-08-2006

- WRXtranceformed - 09-08-2006

Thanks guys =D

Yeah, that Tundra is a great truck, but it eats gas like nobody's business hehe.

So LOL! My first attempt to get another master key made for this Lexus has ended in complete disaster.

I ordered a blank off of Ebay because it's so damn expensive to get through the dealership. The blank was fine, it's legit, so I programmed it myself to be accepted by the car's remote locks and security system. It worked great.

So the next step is to get it cut. Lexus dealer can't do it, so a locksmith can. I took it to a place in Chantilly, the guy tried to cut the key, the new one worked fine in the ignition (it wouldn't start it of course, because it has to be programmed again after it's cut), but then he tried it again and the key wouldn't even move to the ACC slot.

He buffed it a little more, etc... still no dice. So he put the master key back in. MASTER KEY DOES NOT WORK! FUCK! Same symptoms as the new one. My blood starts to boil immediately, the guy goes inside, comes back out and starts taking apart the dash, and I was like WHOA WHOA....I don't think so buddy. Had them then call a tow truck and took it immediately to the Lexus dealer. The service guy at the locksmith seemed good, he said they would have no problem footing the bill for any repairs because clearly it wasn't my fault. What a fucking day! Missed work, I was furious... but I did keep my cool, and explained that to those guys... and I think that went a long way. I had every right to be fucking furious, but I've been in service and I've been yelled at and it really sucks.

Anyway, the bright side! The Lexus dealership offered me a courtesy loaner to drive around. I asked the guy if they did any IS350 rentals  he said "No, but we have 250s, you want one?" Me: "DEFINITELY!"

This is no 350, but it's a very very nice car. I actually like the interior of my car a little better, but this might not have had all of the upgrades. The windshield front and rear visibility kind of sucks, and I feel like my head is going to hit the roof and I'm not even a tall guy, but otherwise it's badass.

Some of the cooler gadgets on it are the push button start and the transmitter. Like, if the doors are locked, you don't have to push unlock to get in the car. You have have the transmitter in one hand and you touch the door handle and it automatically opens for you. Pointless, but pretty sweet!

- NTIman - 09-18-2006

The transmitters are pretty pimp. Toyota puts them on the Avalon,Prius, and some of the Camrys now. The pushbutton is great on the hybrids, because when you just have the key,you always freak out when the car doesn't start.lol. Nice ride though, I'm love to have the IS

- Andy - 09-18-2006

I drove my friend's IS350. It felt more luxobarge than sports sedan.

- Feersty - 09-18-2006

Nice. My friend got one before she even had a job. Dumb girls.

Got a Masters in education from JMU last May. She assumed she would find a job easy, but it took her 3 months longer that she thought. Her monthly payment is like $750 and she didn't have job. Throw your :?: in the trash. You are so wasteful, Rex.

Obviously she found *some* way to pay for it, and probably knew that in advance. Maybe she sucks dick for cash, maybe her parents paid for it, maybe she has a sugar daddy. Whatever it is, I'm sure she knew about it before she bought her car...

- WRXtranceformed - 09-18-2006

*COUGH* $750/mo on one car??!? She must have put no money down at all, or got assraped on the price of a new one.
