Man, we're awful.

Worse than drug pushers.

- SameeRR - 04-27-2006

That's not bad at all. I would think you could find a 92 bike just like that for a little cheaper though. I think 2500 is too much. What about you guys?

Well older bikes dont depreciate much. You could buy something, ride it for 12 months and sell it for what you paid for it.

Also, this is prime time to sell - bikes are selling within 24-48 hrs of being posted up, and there are a lot of people looking to get on them so that will drive prices up. Mikey didnt think this part through, but thats ok Wink

The price difference between an old bike (F2, etc) is not that much different from a newer bike (F4i) for a lot more performance.

hrmph that guy deleted his post on CL and didn't return my calls yesterday. i guess it is sold? Sad

- Mike - 04-27-2006

contacted guy with f2... we'll see how that goes. blue book on it is 2700 so 2500 is fair.

- .RJ - 04-27-2006

Throw kbb out the window this time of year.

- Mike - 04-27-2006

well it is below blue book so i'm not too worried about it.

heheh...i did that, except i made a profit (even after the maintenance costs) Wink

the turn around time for a motorcycle to be sold is VERY quick at this time of the year. The best weapon you can have is cash-in-hand. I highly doubt you can find an F4i for less than $4500 though. Atleast a running one with minimal problems.

just remember that kbb doesn't really matter. i bought my GS for $1500 (kbb - $1130) and sold it 2k miles and 8 months later for $1650. I probably could've gotten more, but i felt bad - wasn't in the best condition. Oh yeah, it sold in early Feb within 24 hours of posting it on CL.

- G.Irish - 04-27-2006

That bike has been repainted though so it might not be worth that much.

- SameeRR - 04-27-2006

Yeah, I sold my Buell within 3 hours of putting it on CL. And I made a profit as well.

I used that profit to buy 40s. I am totally awesome.

- Jeff - 04-27-2006

the blue one is some hot shit.

true, which could explain it being 200 below at a peak time for sellers.

Depends on your perspective. The front bodywork also isnt OEM - not sure about the rest of it.

if it looks good, runs fine then i would be fine with it. This is your first bike. In all reality you'll probably get rid of it by the end of the Summer or by Fall in preparation to buy a nice bike in the Winter.

you'll probably sell it in the spring to a buyer who's looking to learn on a learner's bike or something that's a little older. I know i didn't really care about cosmetic issues and other non-functional stuff with my first bike.

If you want to search multiple cities on craigslist at the same time use this search on google:

site:craigslist.org apr 06

Then add whatever kind of bike you are looking for (ex: cbr, 500, yzf, SV, or whatever) to make it "site:craigslist.org apr 06 cbr f3"

- SameeRR - 04-27-2006

Right here - JMU colors.
