it's like some people put in effort, and others make it futile. :x

Really all this disaster has done is bring the corruption and depravity of some of New Orleans worst to the forefront. Most people who've lived in LA would agree that there is a lot of crime, poverty, and corruption down there. Put people under extreme stress and you'll see their true nature.

Luckily the majority of people there are good, honest people and they definitly didn't deserve any of this.

LA = Riots...
NO = Marshall Law

Both caused by natural disasters of different kinds. but look at it this way... when something adverse happens, something mind blowing... the lawless will go wild Smile i wonder whats going to happen in NOVA? Wink

you also have to factor in that there was a mandatory evacuation of all residents. the ones that stayed behind are the poor and uneducated without any means to leave. now take away their food and shelters basically and tell them that there isnt really anyway to enforce law and order and this is whats going to happen.

Finally some progress is being made. It was great seeing Bush hug the residents of those areas, what a compassionate man.

- Feersty - 09-05-2005

Nah I am not being naive, did y'all see it on the news?

- Mike - 09-05-2005

i'm just laughing at the fact that he hugged some people on tv and you now think he's such a compassionate man.

i guess you missed the speech he made three days ago when he actually laughed when talking about why things were progressing so slowly? "the buses and boats take time to move *snicker*" maybe i'm nitpicking, but it isn't a topic to even crack a smile about imo... let alone being the f'ing president on national tv.

FWIW actions speak louder than words:

Ok, enough. Look feersty, as mike said, just because he hugged some family on tv does not mean anything. Its a publicity stunt. Its to get hardworking americans such as yourself to think that he IS a compassionate man (in the midst of this entire fuck up that is known as louisiana). I wasn't going to state the blatantly obvious connection here, but look at the thousands, and thousands of people who have died in Iraq because of his actions as the leader of our country.

Perhaps this will help. Nixon went on tv publicly and stated that he was not a crook...and we all know how that turned out. Clinton went on tv publicly and stated he did not have sexual relations...and we all know how that turned out. While these are just more of an extreme, you get the idea that tv personality does not = real personality.

but look at the picture! look at it! it = everything!

Bush didnt instantly fix the problems from the worst natural disaster in history! He sucks! What a horrible president! All his fault!

Especially when the state and local governments ended up looking like a monkey fucking a football and dropped the ball big time.

i dont know how it ended. did he get the girl? or did she take her dress to get dry cleaned?

- G.Irish - 09-05-2005

Seriously, there is plenty of blame to go around. Let's not resort to blind Bush bashing. If he didn't go to the affected area people would be saying he doesn't care. He does go down to the affected area and people say its just a stunt.

He is partially responsible but there are a LOT of people in the chain of command that screwed up way before him.

I thought she saved the dress as a memento?
