Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-21-2017 Not my favorite. Drinkable but just a generic Apple flavor. Nothing special. Couldn't find the pear. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-21-2017 So much sugar in these but the flavor isn't bad. Very sweet and taste kinda like a candy I've had. Maybe a ring pop or somethinglike that. Pretty good but the sugar is so high (33g) you couldn't do many of these. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-21-2017 Almost tastes like a beer. Don't know how to describe it but I get a subtle taste of that common beer flavor. Has a faint sourness really nice aroma. Comes up a little short on flavor. Some of you might like it but it's not for me. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - SlimKlim - 07-22-2017 ^ Sounds right up my alley, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I found the one store in NOVA that stocks the Jack's Dry Hopped yesterday and bought them out. ![]()
Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-22-2017 I swore I had had this one before and really liked it so I bought the big bottle the other day but I'm not crazy about it. It's drinkable but kinda tastes like a sharp Apple juice. Nothing super redeeming about it. Nothing to make it stand out. Guess it's a pure Apple cider since it tastes like straight juice but another one I probably won't buy again. At least for 6 months until I see it and forget I've already tried it ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-28-2017 This one says it's a dry pear cider. Not sure how accurate that is. And it's only 4%. It's not bad but I almost wish it had a bit more bite. Just took another sip and it definitely has a slightly different favorite. I probably wouldn't buy it again probably but definitely not a bad cider. Joey, you might like it. Also has Jack's pear on tap while visiting Lincoln last weekend. Place charged by the ounce and you poured yourself. Interesting idea. It was fun watching Lincoln try to pour his first beer in a goblet style glass of nothing else. Think he got 2oz of beer and a glass full of foam. They didn't have a great selection for 40 taps though which was kinda lame. But the Jack's pear wasn't bad. Easy drinking but nothing to really make it stand out. Will not be searching for it, that's for sure. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 07-29-2017 Super sugary but pretty good flavor ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Apoc - 08-08-2017 Not bad, but way more flat (taste) than I would have expected given the number of words on the label. I probably wouldn't buy it again.
Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Sully - 08-10-2017 Went to Aldi (because there will be one in front of our new apartment and I wanted to see what they carry and because they had a wine with an owl on it and my fiancé likes owls) and found they have super cheap cider. (and wine. Owl wine was $2.50 or so but haven't tried it yet) but saw this and had to try it cause it was like $4 or $6 for a six pack. Can't remember but super cheap. 5% abv. So taste, yea it's super cheap. Super sweet and high carbs. Don't know if I'd buy again but it's just as drinkable as an angry orchard and the like. Also it had a cool bottle cap (which I "collect") which was about 60% of the reason for purchase. Side note, store sucked except they carried skirt steak (that looked questionable but still) and I found a gluten free canned chicken noodle soup for the fiancé which could be nice if it's decent. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - ViPER1313 - 08-10-2017 ![]() At least its not blueberry blackberry sour cider  Re: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - Apoc - 08-10-2017 That was an ale, not a cider! Reds are wheats you prolly won't like, the yellow maybe, and the green probably.
RE: Roast or Toast - The Beer Trolling Thread - ScottyB - 01-21-2019 awesome, thanks. the Andechs and Warsteiner look like they'd be right up my alley. will have to drink all of them to confirm though. for science.
