When I started I knew what I wanted and I knew that I would build a lot of the stuff myself. Honestly, I think with the price of the Jeep I have 6k in the total project. Again, building a lot of the stuff and doing all of the work myself. I have more in the suspension than anything, including the price of the Jeep itself! The only way I'm able to do this while in school is because I live at home and commute. I just started JMU this spring so we will see how much more gets done as time goes on over the next 2 years. JMU cost a little more than BRCC lol. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 02-08-2014 ibjeepin95 Wrote:Yeah, it's nice. And honestly, you should be trying to take some money you have and paying off that interest. I'm not saying spend all your money to pay down interest but... Because come November after you eventually graduate in May 201X you're going to shit a brick at how much you owe and how much your first loan payment will be. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 02-08-2014 V1GiLaNtE Wrote:Senor_Taylor Wrote:ibjeepin95 Wrote:Yeah, it's nice. I've been knocking out 25-30 hours a week while I've been here just to pay my insurance and other things, but 7.92 isn't cutting it when my gas is $40 a week. Get a bike son Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 02-12-2014 Got a bike, bro. Not riding that 5 miles to work at 6am. I don't even think I can do 5 miles quick enough to get back for class after work. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - ibjeepin95 - 03-01-2014 Turned this pile of crap into a bumper. Finished today... Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 03-01-2014 I can't tell from the pics; does it stick out past the rear hatch? I did this for a better departure angle, but I have a feeling the hatch will take some abuse... 8) Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 03-04-2014 ibjeepin95 Wrote:Senor_Taylor Wrote:I can't tell from the pics; does it stick out past the rear hatch? Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - ibjeepin95 - 03-16-2014 I finally bolted down my bump stops. JB weld wasn't cutting it... ![]() Took the doors off yesterday and played around on some hills and a small section of decent sized rocks at my house... ![]() And bought something else to rob me of my hard earned money...
Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - V1GiLaNtE - 03-17-2014 I need to bolt down my bumpstops.. Passenger sides are banging around inside the coil from my trip to Shoe Creek Saturday. Want to build me a similar rear bumper? I smashed the hell out of mine Saturday and cracked a passenger tail light.. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - ibjeepin95 - 03-17-2014 V1GiLaNtE Wrote:I need to bolt down my bumpstops.. You can get it cut to length, but then you pay a bit more and a cut charge. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - ibjeepin95 - 04-07-2014 Here's a pretty cool pic of my pile of shat from Saturday at the show. Thanks Patrick Johnson! ![]() They night before the show, I picked up some extended braided brake lines for the front. I've been needing some pretty bad. And as some of you may know, I was kicking around the idea of going to bigger axles. However, after considering how I wanted to keep it legal as far as width, how easy it is to find parts for the 30/8.25, and most importantly how CHEAP it is to continue running these axles, I believe I have decided to keep running them and just beef them up to continue running 35's. My ultimate goal is to drive 4 hours away (Rausch Creek), wheel the piss out of it, and drive back. Sound retarded? Probably. But I think If I run the 4.56's, run chromolys front/rear (MAYBE RCV's up front if I can come up with that coin), truss the 30, gusset the C's, and run some diff covers, I can polish out these stock axles and make them last. I will also carry spare shafts. Re: My Dumb 99' XJ Low Rider - Senor_Taylor - 04-10-2014 I can't even imagine how you manage to drive this on roads...
