Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 07-16-2011 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. I had no idea anyone manufactured a side charged upper.. Can you still manipulate the bolt using the standard charging handle?? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 07-16-2011 yup... you can do it either way. they have right and left side chargers. this version is a right side only, the big opening on the thick receiver. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 07-16-2011 dude that rifle is insane! heading to the range to get my laser sighted in here in about an hour. Will report back with feedback Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 07-20-2011 Oops.... Somehow my debit card just ordered 1000 rds of 9mm.. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Kaan - 07-20-2011 oh damn... if its too much i'll buy some off you
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 07-20-2011 Funny.. Cause all I would do is turn around and buy more ammo with it.. 8) Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 07-20-2011 WRXtranceformed Wrote:dude that rifle is insane! did you point the laser the wrong way? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 07-20-2011 Ha forgot to report back. It was a little tricky to sight in but I've got it dialed in pretty good at the range I would need it for. One quick note is that I did like the advantage it gave me to not have to look down the sights to put the shot where I wanted it. I have put about 700 rounds through it so far without the laser so I feel very comfortable looking down the sights (and maybe I'm doing it wrong) but I enjoyed being able to put my focus completely on the target. The laser itself is bright as hell, several people at the range stopped shoot and stared when I would put that thing on. You could see the beam trailing down the entire range. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 07-22-2011 Calling AR Junkies... Ahem.. Kaan.. Ahem Rex.. Summer is almost coming to an end which means school and Ashby Arms.. Have been slowly saving money left over from Passat sale and putting it away for AR purchase.. I'm pretty much sold on the Spikes Tactical from Dennis @ Ashby.. Could you please spend your Friday discussing the advantages/disadvantages of a carbine vs Middy in your professional opinions.. ? More specific items other than length for maneuverability in urban/indoor situations.. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 07-22-2011 MIDDY ALWAYS IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE. More reliable, less heat, less dirt, slower bolt velocity. Carbine and middy are just the gas lengths, they have no bearing on maneuverability, accuracy, etc. Car-length gas is just ick. It's so short because they needed reliable functioning for the commando models, and they just used an extended commando barrel for the M4. Since you're limited to 16", you want as long of a gas length as possible while maintaining sufficient pressure to operate the weapon. (Example, I've seen rifle length gas on a 16" gun, but I'm not sure I'd be real thrilled about it.) So, just get the middy, and don't get an M4 profile. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 07-22-2011 A buddy showed me his Mossberg for home defense. The want is now strong. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - V1GiLaNtE - 07-22-2011 Guess it's the Spikes Middy... That was easy? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 07-22-2011 thinking of picking up an 870 this evening (assuming someone has them in stock) to mess around @ bull run. or am i better off not owning and instead renting to see if i enjoy the sport? i figured i could sell a used 870 for near what i pay for it. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 07-22-2011 I would rent 2-3 times before purchasing. I don't think it'll help you in your purchasing, but buying before having ever done it seems a bit obsessive. If the primary purpose was something else, I could see it, but I don't think you intended to use it for anything but clays. I haven't priced the 870, but I would think they're cheaper online. Maybe at that price point with with transfer fees, it doesn't make much of a difference. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 07-22-2011 you said the rentals suck. plus i have to deal with that safety course bs. i see kaan has an ad on vaguntrader... hrmm..... Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 07-22-2011 They suck in that they're different every time. I've shot as high as 17 with one. I never took the course. Just keep your mouth shut and act like you know what you're doing. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 07-22-2011 Apoc Wrote:Just keep your mouth shut and act like you know what you're doing. This is actually pretty good advice for life. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 07-22-2011 but kaan is selling guns. i want moar. kaan, sell me guns. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 07-22-2011 Mike Wrote:but kaan is selling guns. i want moar. kaan, sell me guns.Kaan is selling a bunch of older guns. He's asking a fair price for them, but he's not selling them for himself, he's trying to help out an older lady. |
