bmw exec 1: "hey fellow bmw executives, that Prius V sure does get my blood flowing"
bmw exec 2: "yeah toyota really ate our lunch on that one. we didnt see that one coming"
bmw exec 1: "well damn, lets copy that motherfucker pronto, but leave out the hybrid shit"
bmw exec 2: "im on it!"
bmw exec 1: "just make sure its fwd, soulless, and ugly as fuck"

to be fair, its not coming here, so they arent trying to pretend its a premium or luxo vehicle

those trophy wives need something fitting to be seen in before they drop off Dakota and Skyler at pre-college-prep before hitting the shops with their $12k a month allowance

BMW feels like its becoming more of a lifestyle accessory every day

Am I really looking at a VW?????

Re: Automotive News Discussion - .RJ - 02-12-2015

If you're looking at those, look at the GTI also - With a 4-door the only space you're giving up is a few inches between the back seat and the bumper, and you get the 2.0L motor instead of the 1.8L.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - BLINGMW - 02-12-2015

Wait why are they calling that a Golf instead of a Jetta? :dunno: That's dumb. Other than the confusing name, sounds good.
If BMW is making FWD econoboxes, thinks in any way that a turbo 4 makes a good subsitute for their signature NA I6 (which I bet with DI could get those same fuel economy #s and sound better doing it), and cannot even bother to bring over a lower price diesel (their 4 cyl diesel is an $8-10k :!: option), I'll take a TDI thank you very much.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 02-12-2015

They always called them Golf Wagons or Variants or something overseas I think, we were the only ones that called it "Jetta Sportwagen."

I can't believe the SE and SEL aren't available with manuals. That's very un-VW of them, one of the few things they offer that other companies don't is the ability to get a manual AND options, not a manual OR options like most companies these days.

You are giving up a lot in cargo space.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 02-12-2015

If you buy a GTI I'm coming to Richmond to touch it.

I guess most people that prefer manual transmissions are also poor. :dunno: The CX5 is extra insulting, you want a manual? You can only get three color choices then. Black, different black, and silver. Yo mama's so poor, she can't even afford color! oooohhhh snap

You can look, just dont touch. You might catch something.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 03-03-2015

New CTR specs: 310 hp, 295 ft-lbs, 7:50 Ring time

Still not a huge fan of the space hatch styling but it does the business performance-wise. In the UK it'll cost about what a STi costs, so not a bad deal if a hardcore sport compact is what you're looking for. Still might be a tough sell against the Focus RS though.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 03-03-2015

I saw that yesterday, sub 6 second 0-60. Interesting that they finally moved away from the NA 4 banger and dropped a turbo in there.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 03-03-2015

Yeah Honda's next family of 4-cylinder engines are all turbocharged. 1.0L, 1.5L and 2.0L.

As fast around a racetrack as this CTR may be, Honda really should've gone AWD. With 310 hp/295 ft-lbs this thing would be posting a 0-60 time at least a second faster. Hopefully the next Civic platform that's dropping in 2016 can accomodate the SH-AWD system. That may also be where we get a Civic with this 2.0T.
